  • Victor Chandler-Class Operation

Just thought I should post something based on my experience with them. Two weeks ago I
got luckly and won their Football Contest. They opened up a $2000 account for me. The only catch was you must put the 2000, total, in action, anyway you want, before you can take anything out. No time limit to keep money in and no post up of your own money. All free. Well this past weekend I put the cash in play and won a few bucks in doing so. I called Sunday Night and asked for a withdrawal for a good chunk of the Money. They promptly sent me a check, Fed-Ex, that I got today, for free, no questions asked. During the whole set up process and when calling in my bets, it was a pleasure, All the operators were knowledgeable and friendly. I rate them a First Class Operation the whole way and they will become one of my top post up places in the future. Ill add 2 more things cause I actually hit 4 contests that same weekend. Ill rate Pinnacle right up there also, very pleasurable to deal with. The only difference being you have to Post up a part of your own Money and must bet 3 times the bonus Money before you can take anything out.
So I got them a step behind VC as far as the Contest Winnings go but still a Top Book. I also won that World Class Casino one (WWW). I can't comment on their operation but the Contest prize was 100. Now the rules, Can only bet the Money in Their Online Casino, no sports, Must leave money in there 60 days, Then can only take out anything you won over the 100, Not the 100 itself. So you judge for yourself. But for nothing I guess I couldn't complain.

I agree that Victor Chandler runs a first class operation from Gibraltar, however some adjustments could improve their service.

I used to have an account with them in London and they moved my account when they changed location and went tax-free. At this stage they seemed to be very disoganised (for example the operators where not at all familiar with the name of the teames in lower divisions or foreign leagues/sports, sometimes they couldn't give you your correct balance for several days etc etc), I guess this was very much due to the business growing very (to) fast. However, they were always very frienly and accepted large bets. Many other bookies are jokes (like Stan James in Gibraltar) since the never want to lay any money at the prices they give (unless you are a big, big sucker....).

I went on a lucky streak with their regular operation so they closed my account with this operation but still let me bet at the Superbook (except golf!). This department seems to be better organised and you always get your updated balance stated when you phone them. However there are a few things I am wondering about, maybe I can get some answers from them or someone else using this forum.

1/ When will you go on-line. "coming soon" it said on your web-site a year ago.

2/ Is it impossible to have your website posting the lines on-line eventhough you only take bets on the phone. It looks like the pages are reloading often but when you phone in the line is usually different in a lot of matches.

3/ What are your upper limits on American sports. Usually when I bet NHL I am offered bets to win maybe USD 2,000. I asked for a bet on the "Grand Salami" the other day for USD 3,000 but was given 1,000.... Or maybe the limits are individual?

To be noted for you who bets international soccer is that you almost always can find better prices on the favourites elsewhere but they do price up the underdogs instead. I guess this is all about "betting-tactics" since they seem to have big bets from the far east, and they bet the favourites all the time!

      Per,
Our online system is being tested at the moment and we are now looking at early next year before we will go live. I know this has been put back but we we do not want to go live until we think that the system is of the quality that our customers deserve.

Secondly, as we are not online yet, the lines that are posted on our website should be treated as a betting guide only and live lines can be obtained by calling us toll fee call us toll free on 1-877-9 VICTOR.

Finally, all limits are always individual to the game or sport that you are betting on. Hockey is not a high handle sport for us as it is not for many books.
As for our upper limits, we will lay upto $30,000 on NFL, and $20,000 on College Football on game day, and $5,000 on NBA and $3,000 on College Baskets. Amounts above these will also be considered depending on the state of our book on any particular game.

If you have any further questions about Victor Chandler feel free to post them here or give me a call on the above number.
      Thank you

      Chris Taylor
      (Operations Manager)

I've got to say that I've never ever had a problem with limits at VC. This weekend I placed my entire balance on a soccer proposition and the bet was placed within seconds. No stalling while the bets gets authorised, or anything like that. The bet was accepted withing seconds and it's the kind of service I expect at VC. I do hope they go online as soon as possible, and I also hope they finally start providing their clients with account in other currencies than USD...
