I couldnt agree with you more. This thread never should have had to be open in the first place. The original thread was fair , fine, and going to be productive to many readers if it wasnt unjustly closed
    Thanks Steve

I see your posts a lot and you are very aware of what goes on in this indistry. I am curious as to what is your opinion on the subject? Wouldnt you want to know if you were playing with a book that could decide if they wanted your bets or not, and then decide or determine if you were a syndicate and not pay you.
      Please let me know Steve

        Steve:

I tend to agree with you on this subject, I was given the boot by intertops the year before last and i my "syndicate" consists of me and my satellite dishes, vcr's and televisions.

The NASA thing scares me more than anything b/c at least Intertops promptly sent me my funds when they closed off my account.

I can't think of anything more reprehensible than NASA's policy of accepting the wagers and then refusing to pay off the winners. I would like nothing more than to compile a list of these horse**** sportsbooks.

The problem however is 99 % of the readership on this site will never have to worry about being stiffed by a sportsbook in that way. It does pain me however to have Bworld proclaim themselves to be a watchdog and yet not take offence to NASA and their deceptive practices, and NASA does have more than one deceptive practice.

Don't get me wrong some i am not accusing bworld of anything below board here, i just think it is difficult for bworld to be an industry watchdog and also collect fees from sportsbooks. In any other business venture this would be deemed a conflict of interest, but alas this is the internet.

          Steve one more thing:

Cn you see if you can get Don Best to put your 1H lines on the screen, i have asked for more 1H lines, but to no avail.

As i typed out the above response i watched the Phil/Hou total rise from 90 to 90.5 at CRIS, and if the total falls on 90 i am blaming you for this!

Wow and thank you. Well said. How shocking someone else that doesnt want to play at these type of books and wants them exposed.
We had as you know our runline slot up there. When they added a new book we lost that slot which i believed also was the slot for half lines as well. We spoke with Shark over at Donbest and he said they were taking our runline slot down to add another book. We didnt have a problem with that because baseball was over in 2 weeks. HE said he didnt see a problem with us getting it back next year because as you know we book runlines high and people want to see them. What would help more is if customers like yourself call donbest and request this kind of stuff. As you know we here at Skybook offer you everything and we wish you could see it as well without having to call
I hope it doesnt land 90 buddy
            Thanks Steve

I have no idea what you need explained to you about my last post. It cant be any more simple to understand. I was simply saying it was nice to see an administrator not close a thread because he didnt like it reguardless of how many readers were interested in it. Im sorry if that doesnt help thats the best way i know how to explain it.
                    Thanks Steve

Steve, there's one thing I don't understand about this whole issue. Why do you implicate Skybook, the book you work for, into this issue? I'm sure your views would be perceived differently if you simply came here as "Steve."

It's just not "natural" for a book to get involved like this. If your aim is to warn bettors from getting "stiffed" by books that don't pay, then I understand that. I have always thought that books should include information about the risks of choosing a sportsbook directly on their website. I think Sportingbet does this best, by simply mentioning this: As a note of CAUTION - there are a number of offshore bookmakers offering tax free betting on the internet. Many of them are operating in countries with little or no formal regulation over sports betting, and where your money may not be secure. Bet on your favourite sport, but NEVER gamble on your choice of bookmaker!

If you have an in-depth knowledge of law and the legislative process, then you know that certain laws/regulations are drawn-up simply to be used as a last-resort scenario.

Say a book is being ripped off by a certain group in some dubious way. If the book knows this, but has no way of laying down hard evidence, then they can use these special laws to deal with the issue. The regular bettor needn't worry about a thing.

My main point is that if a book is going to rip-off its clients, then it will do so regarless of its regulations.

This is an industry where trust is paramount to the prosperity of a book, and with or without certain regulations the books will go about doing their business in a predetermined way. It they want to rip you off, they will do so regardless.

In conclusion, I'm certain that if a bettor won a bet and was subsequently refused his winnings, then that book would instantly be brought to the attention of everyone here at B'World. That book's career would be over as far as all members are concerned.

                        steve-

this is just my humble lil' ol' opinion, but im not sure that i've seen a post from you on this site(or any other) that didn't attack another book or thank somebody for supporting you. im sure that there are some, but i just can't recall any. do you have anything more than "marketing" to add?

i can't recall any instance of any representative of any book carrying on like yourself, except perhaps r****e...and at least he pretends to hide his affiliation..

the points that you made in the other thread are obvious...im not sure that many people disagree with most of the points made...

it is a well known story and it has been presented once again..and it is still up, so what are you crying about?

anybody that knows me,(including brian) knows that i don't blindly defend this site(or defend it at all very often)..but, jeeeez

                        kosar

                            steve,

the reason i was confused was the fact that
i did not lock the thread although i agree
with the admin that did. you see, we have 3 admins.

                              Cons
Thanks for the response.I have so many answers because you asked so many questions .So if I miss any ill go back and get to them. First I am speaking on behalf of skybook as a company not only myself on this issue. Second anybook that claims they are governed by laws to protect the customer is a crock. Look at Antigua They give out these government licenses. What a joke The first to books brought up here about stiffing clients operate in Antigua. One has since moved. The integrety of the book and its owners protect the client. THATS ALL. Look at WWTS they are in Antigua but that doesnt protect the client What protects their clients is the fact that they are owned by one of the greatest people in this business and run by some of the best around. They are an Awesome Topnotch book who uses their perfect reputation to protect the client. No one will ever ,ever get stiffed by WWTS not because of WHERE they are but because of WHO they are.
                              Thanks Steve
I have to go back and reread your post to finish replying

Sorry i had to reread. Yes it is simply my point for us, you ,and anyone else out there to have knowledge of a place that uses these laws. I am really curious to know what kind of dubious ways there are to cheat a book. You have to explain that. As far as I can see it you either win you bet or lose it. Thats all.
                                Thanks Steve
