  • Bowman's Unethical Behavior

I've read complaints about Bowmans on this site in the past, but they had always been fair to me until today.

I called them and asked them for the second half line for Miami-San Diego. The operator said "Miami -4 -105" My response was "I want $115 on San Diego."

Then the operator put me on hold for a minute and then said "San Diego is +4 -125."

Of course, I complained. They had changed the line AGAINST me AFTER I had called a bet. Some of you have said that Bowman's does this to you, but I am a small player and not a "wise guy."

Now that Bowmans has screwed me, I can no longer trust them. I plan on closing my account as soon as possible.

Can anyone recommend an HONEST sportsbook?

WSEX is the way to go all the way !!!!!!

They won't come close to cheating you ever.

If you decide to go with them you will be very satisfied to say the least.

Also you can do all your wagering online, and not worry about your situation ever.

Let me know if you do......

When is Bowman's going to offer online betting? Why is it taking forever and a day for them to implement it? Is Gary devoting too much time to his cigar business and not enough to his sportsbook? Is someone spiking his personal cigar stash with mind-altering substances?

There are so many unanswered questions about Bowman's that I decided to bite the bullet and hire my own private investigator. My father, who lives in Horseshoe Bay Texas, a luxury-resort community near Austin, told me that Kenneth Starr, the renowned government investigator of Bubba Clinton's sexual shenanigans, has just bought a mansion in the community. Dear old Dad will serve as a go-between and attempt to sweet-talk Mr. Starr into undertaking the Gary Bowman investigation.

I believe that if anyone can get to the bottom of the Bowman mysteries, it is Kenneth Starr. The U.S, government spent 70-million tax dollars to have Mr. Starr determine that Bubba Clinton was guilty of dipping stogies into Monica Lewinsky's private parts. Therefore, Mr. Starr is now a veritable expert in illicit activity concerning cigars.

If and when Mr. Starr can get to the bottom of the Gary Bowman mysteries, I promise to provide an exclusive full report in Bettorsworld. Stay tuned...

While we seem to have Bowman's attention, I have a question for their management team. I have had an account at Bowmans since 1992 and was betting there regularly till about 3 months ago. That was when I heard about Olympic and all their variety of betting options. But what has me coming back to Olympic more than anything is the way they handle credit card deposits. No 2.5 % charge like Bowmans and they treat it as a purchase (not like cash advance like Bowmans) and lastly Olympic will credit winnings back to your credit card. I have inquired in the past to Bowmans as to why they don't have these same types of credit card policies and their operators just skirt around the question and will instead tell me about the benefits Bowmans has like being open 24 hours, one free withdrawl a week, etc.

Bowmans *****. Expletive deleted by me!

A few months ago they were looking for a
"senior odds manager" or some crap like that
to sign on. For laughs I wrote them.

Despite repeated requests for a salary range they refused to provide one. Some jerk kept replying to me that "they had no upper earnings potential" and that they needed an application first.

It sounds as though this place is just as cheap with their employees as they are with the customers. Which might explain why their service *****. Expletive deleted by me!

                That was fun.

I dumped them a LONGGG time ago and recommend everyone do the same. Lowlifes supreme.

Can Europeans compete with Americans? Or do they lack the entrepeneural spirit and necessary competitiveness to succeed when pitted against the most enterprising people on the planet?

Early successful European offshore sportsbetting successes--Bowman's, Easybets,
and Intertops--have wilted under the onslaught of emerging big-time American books. Even books like Sportingbet.com, Victor Chandler, and William Hill aren't on the same level as the top American books when it comes to offering American sports.

I'm not trying to be chauvinistic; I'm merely decribing a seeming reality.

American books still lag the English when it comes to golf. They do not come close to having the daily matchups avaiable at Sportingbet and William Hill which is unfortunate because both have the ties lose clause unless specifically bet.Wesx and Money Plays have some matchups but not nearly as many.If one would match the Euros with selections avaiable and keep their "ties push" rule in effect they would corner the market on golf.

                      Reno,

From one point of view they don't need to, as they have the soccer market down - something American focused sportsbooks don't, and there is much, much more money wagered there, and more games, too.......

                        Reno,

                        Silly question here......

What american books are you talking about ??

Freak, just the Don Best books alone provide ample proof. If any of these European books had gone big-time in American sports, they'd be on the Don Best screen. Instead of "seizing the moment," hiring the right people, and competing with the big boys, they have settled for small-time mediocrity.

With Caribbean-based books you don't have the certainty of dealing with a place that won't disappear overnight. European books provide safety second to none, and are based in regulated environments. I wouldn't call any place in the Caribbean "regulated." Political stability is another plus that Euro books have.

I agree that most Euro sportsbooks don't focus as much on US sports. Doesn't make any difference to me as I don't bet on any US sport, though to most here I'm sure this matters most. But if you like going to sleep knowing that your money will still be there in the morning, and enjoy betting on various sports, then you might as well cross out the Caribbean altogether. If there's an exception or two, then let me know.
