randyrohm, are you betting by phone or online with William Hill? I think their online operation, at least for now, deals higher limits and isn't as sensitive to who's playing. Guest lines are the ones you play.

I don't know about college limits, but pro FB and Bucket limits are generous.

Sorry everybody but I just couldn't keep away from giving my point of view.

I, like a lot of people out there, do not see anything wrong with dealing double lines. This practice could have several uses for a book.

      1) they can use this tactic on games that they do not want wiseguy action on a certain side (maybe they are already very heavy on it or any other reason)

      2) to discourage wiseguys to bet with and politly say we don;t want your action here, your killing us.

      3) minimixe risk

      4) maximize profit

      5) try to get action on the other side and balance the game.

For those who say that if they don't get the line they want they won't bet, that is a great choice but you think that the book doesn't know that? Maybe that is exactly what they want, for you NOT to bet in that game. If they wanted your action and they knew if they gave u -2 instead of -1 you will not bet you think they will give you -2. I don't think so.

I also think that what happens if for example I call and the regular line is -1 because everybody is betting that side but I want to bet the underdog. Isn't getting -2 on the fav a lot better than getting -1? Maybe they wanted my action on the underdog to balance the action, maybe they though I was going with the rest of the bets and bet the fav. Who knows and who cares if I got what I wanted and maybe more.

I also don't get why people that have been happy with the lines they have gotten will leave a book just because he found out that the lines he so much like may not be what the other guy got. I really don;t see the problem here, maybe I am stupid.

Maybe comparing a sportsbook with a store is not such a good comparison, a store will not loose thousands of $ if the VHS doesn't fit on top of your TV (or any other reason).

Imagine that a sportsbook did everything their customers wanted, if they changed their rules so that customers are happy (obviously because they are all winning). I guess the betting industry will be over.

I personally don't like some (for example) bank policies but you don't see me dedicating a web site to it.

      Good luck to all

I agree Phantom - nothing wrong with a book double dealing lines as long as the customers know about this policy.

By the way, which book are you with in Costa Rica?
