i think action sports makes the mistake
of assuming that the perks given out will
    result in "special treatment", namely
that a depositor will leave his winnings
in for extended periods of time....kindof
like "we'll be nice to you, be patient with
us". This is a mistake imo since a bettor
may want to retreive some or all of his funds
    at any moment.
Any rules should be spelled out to prevent
    misunderstandings...pretty simple.

The 5% JUICE AND any other perks offered
are great (haven't checked out your lines
yet however) but if you expect to live by
unwritten rules then nobody can be happy.

Whether it's greed or extreme need that a
book wants to keep as much money in their
possession, any book with enough capital
and a smart enough marketing plan should
    be able to succeed without
resorting to unusual such as holding back
    requested funds.

What right do you have to disclose someone's personal betting details?

      b) We did pay boomer below his initial deposit but not to the tune he would have liked. Being the type of player that he is, who plays 2 dimes a game, leaving less that the amount he usually bets on one game is a little weird.

His money, his right to do whatever he likes with.

If you tried this in Australia buddy, you would be CLOSED DOWN within days.

things are getting kind of biased around here. in another post a poster claims a check from Carib bounced. Obviously this will be corrected by John and the customer will be comped in some way but what if his mortgage bounced on this check? . then another posts asks about Carib site going down and a few people say they experience the same thing..again not a big deal yet Jeff immediatly says something to the effect of lets wait to get the facts, about the check and then says Carib is solid etc about their site going down too many times. then comes boomers post and jeff instead of hearing both sides suggests that Action is beating Boomer. Boomer, did you get all your money? to collect bonus'and money made off those bonus' funds are not collectible for set periods of time and or action. i do not know what Actions policy is but i doubt they launder money.Jeff..why so much support for Carib and yet before giving Action the benefit of the doubt and thier response you bury them?? Has Action had other slow plays?
Boomer..you made a post at 1am this morning but you did not reply to Action? did they pay you all those funds they claim? i am sorry but i thought everyone, including Action, deserves
the benefit of the doubt before being attacked..i wish all here the best of luck.

Boris, if he tried to do this in England or Australia he would be facing a hefty law-suit for breach of customer confidentiality... or maybe even criminal proceedings.

Bighands - Carib has a LONG track record and have one of the most reliable websites. No one knows the details yet about the check - maybe the customer simply forgot to endorse it (been there, done that).

As for Action Sports, there is never, repeat NEVER, any excuse for refusing to pay a customer his money. (Boomer obviously gave them more than enough play and there are no time limits on bonuses.)

Carib has earned our trust over years - Action Sports have been justifiably black listed.

mls...you are a million % right about Carib.like i said i am sure that the check will be found to be good. my point is evryone attacked this book before they had a chance to responded. when Carib had a problem people ran to defend them..FYI...you have to play a certain % of your initial deposit or, like Millenium ,have your account there for 60 days to have the bonus in ur pocket.at that point you can withdraw it. i want to know if boomer got paid all that was due him. good luck to all.

This situation is unfortunate. Action Sports has been a reliable paying book for several years now but because of two things they are being trashed. The problem with sign-up bonuses, free pagers, 5% juice, etc. is that many of these books have no SPECIFIC perameters as to how much you have to play in order to achieve said bonus. I once sent $20,000 to a place that was recommended to me. They closed my account after a few days and refused to honor the bonus because they "didn't like my action" (translation:I wasn't a square). I ended up getting some smaller amount from them. The best way to solve these problems is 1)DON'T OFFER BONUSES ,or, 2)MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THE PLAYER MUST PLAY X $$ BEFORE HE EARNS SAID BONUS. IF THE BOOK DECIDES AFTER A WHILE THAT HE DOESN'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS, HE SHOULD HONOR THE BONUS.
These books are not in the business of giving away the store. Players should come to this realization before jumping on the "cancer of the industry" bandwagon. On the other hand, my mother always told me that "my mouth" would get me into trouble and she has been correct on several occasions. The people at Action Sports should learn from this. Talk to your customers and explain the procedure. The money belongs to the CUSTOMER and excluding the bonuses you offer, the money in that account represents what he deposited, won, and lost. It is HIS for the asking at any time.

Actually, I have given them the benefit of the doubt, until now. This "story" has been going along longer than since the day it appeared in the forum.

Furthermore, there are two other complaints along the same lines, both of which I gave them the benefit of the doubt on, AND called and spoke with Jason. I'm not out to trash anyone. I have no reason to.

They are in the wrong here, plain and simple. If you disagree, that's all well and good. Send them your check ASAP.....

I think that you need to have your eyes when dealing with these books. Many of the books give a start-up bonus, but you only get it once. Thus, many players, including myself, wehen reloading may look for another reputable book to get the bonus again. With Actionsports, I got no bonus but the 5% juice was enticing and you get it for life. I looked at it and said to myself, the 5% juice is nice but I'd almost be better off with the bonus if I'm going to lose the principal quickly. Anyway, I gave Action a try and thought they were OK. I note that, during baseball season, the 5% juice wasn't in play. I think the bottom line is that there is more risk with the book giving you 5% juice than a regular book. If you want to get paid immediately and on time, you may want to stick with a more traditional book. That said, I believe that Boomer and the others eventually with get paid. I believe, however, that Ray would prefer to have squares playing there than somebody like Boomer, who is either an excellent handicapper or who has excellent sources of information. You may recall that, about November, Ray was offering $11,000 for $10,000 with 5% juice, but like anything in life, if it looks to get to be true, there are probably going to be strings attached. I think that Action needs to define these "strings" and inform the potential customers of them so that (a) there is no misunderstanding down the road and (b) Ray isn't making a unilateral decision as to who gets paid what amount and when. Full disclosure is probably what was missing here in Action's thurst to get new customers and fresh money.

why would a book pay out 30 large and stiff a customer for a dead couple of thousand? i hope it all works out for boomer. he knows his stuff. Jeff, i agree that we can disagree. i enjoy your sight. good luck.

If I can add a little more here......

I too, believe that Boomer will be paid....I've spoken to people who know the owner of Action,etc.etc...

In my opinion, what we have here is a classic stall. This is very common on the street, which is how Action is operating.

A player like Boomer needs to put a considerable portion of his bankroll into play at once, to show a profit, and the bookmaker/Ray knows this. He knows that if he can stall him a week, there's a good chance Boomer will need to put some of that $$$ into play, giving Action the chance to win it. Look, that's exactly what has happened already, only it backfired, and Boomer won. That's why Ray is pissed. As I said, this is the most common trick in the book, only you don't see it much anymore offshore.

Hey, Boomer could keep playing and possibly blow out the account, or, it could go the other way. Whichever way the chips fall. In this case, they have fallen Boomers way, and he should be paid.

I also agree with what someone said earlier. Had action paid promptly, there's a 99% chance that Boomer would have reloaded with them several times over, giving Action plenty of opportunity to win that money.....

                          Hi, fellas.

The reason I haven't said anything is that I'm in Las Vegas attending the ESPY awards right now and although I brought my laptop, there were more important things to do here, i.e. drinking and chasing women.

I spoke to Jason today twice and he assured me I would definitely get paid. He is waiting to speak to Ray Meyers.

I believe him. I said my piece and that's all there is. If Jason opened up his own book I'd probably post with him, I know he is just an employee and seems to be a decent guy. No one controls the purse strings of Action Sports but the owner, who I believe is Ray Meyers.

I don't really care. I am owed 8608. I haven't received it yet. I choose not to make any wagers there anymore. Period.

I've got to run to get ready for the ESPY's, look for me on TV. I'll be wearing a tux.

And most important, THANK YOU FOR THE OVERWHELMING SUPPORT!

                              Incredible.

I think Action Sports should go to the clink.

it is good to hear that Action told boomer he will get paid. let's hope this happens soon. as far as the clink goes...this incident was already posted in breaking news. can someone tell me when that was posted? i know it must have been after Action responded....if not it seems somebody has a personal agenda here.good luck to all.
