The whole question comes down to what will be the profits for these books come October. Their margins might increase, but it could have a negative long-term effect. Bettors might remain loyal to the books dealing the 10 cent line and boycott these 20-cent stores. I refuse to play a side at a 20-cent store and there will be several more that follow. If handle is down considerably this summer, you might see some of these shops go back to 10 cents. A better solution might have been them limiting the action of some of the groups that torched them last year. The collective intelligence of these guys is staggering..does anyone think that this season will be ANYTHING like last year?? JUST
POST A GOOD NUMBER AND BOOK IT...

I find it admirable that players have refused to play into shops that are switching to a 20 cent line.

Some have stated that they will not even play into these sportsbooks come football season. But i ask you this, if the sportsbook you abandoned has a line of +3.5 come football season on a team you like, when all your "10 cent" books have the game at 2.5 or 3, will you remain steadfast in your promise to boycott these books?

i know i that for me the bottom line is the best line, and if it means that come football season i have to reup with CRIS to get the late buyback or whatever,i will do it.

A QUESTION-WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU WITHDRAW YOUR MONEY FROM THE 20 CENT BOOKS
AND POST UP WITH THE 10 CENT BOOKS AND AS SOME OF YOU SAY "STAY WITH THAT BOOK
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR". FOOTBALL SEASON ROLLS
AROUND AND YOU SEE #S AT THE BOOKS YOU CLOSED
YOUR ACCTS, BUT DONT SEE THEM AT BOOKS YOU
DECIDED "TO REMAIN LOYAL TO". ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE OR LAY A BAD # BECAUSE HE LET YOU
PLAY INTO A 10 CENT BB LINE?
LOYALTY TO BOOKMAKERS-GIVE ME A BREAK.

The fact of the matter is that the top 20 or books pretty much all have the same numbers (+/- 1/2 point).

I will transfer all my deposits to dime line books. I doubt I will close any come football season because baseball will still be going on.

Of course, I will redeposit funds in special cases (like for Carib's 2 cent Tuesdays) come football season.

But unless a 20 cent baseball book has a really special football deal they won't see me again.

I DIDNT SEE YOUR POST BEFORE MINE, BUT YOUR 100% CORRECT. HOW MANY GUYS OUT THERE PLAY INTO A 10 CENT LINE WITH LOCAL BM'S?

If you build a better mousetrap, they will buy it. Remember free market competition and all of its wonders?

All the bettors out there who are outraged over the prospect of betting into a 20 cent line have recourse. They are welcome to open their own sports books and offer a 10 cent line and scoop up all the baseball business.

It is not the bettor's job to run the sports books for them. If you don't like their policies, stay away and advise others to do the same - and that sounds to be the general tone of the discussions here.

However let's remember that the only thing (i think?) that deserves universal condemnation in this forum is slow pays and no pays.

                10 VS 20
10 CENT BOOK OPENS GAME 20/30
20 CENT BOOK OPENS GAME 15/35
10 CENT BOOK GETS BLASTED ON FAV
10 CENT BOOK NEW LINE 50/60
20 CENT BOOK NOT WRITING BUSINESS
                20 CENT BOOK STILL 15/35
                COME ON FELLOWS-THINK ABOUT IT

We can all sit here and theorize what's going to happen during the next six months, but none of us really KNOWS for sure. I, like Boomer, will not be playing sides with any of the 20-cent houses. They will get totals action ONLY from me. OLD MAN, I agree with your statement that most of us will bet the better number in non-baseball events, even if it is at one of these 20-cent baseball stores, HOWEVER, there are people that only have a few books and will develop loyalty to some of the new places that didn't fvck them over with the 20-cent line. If the line is the same at both places, I will WITHOUT QUESTION, give the action to the guy who didn't screw me during the baseball season...

Old Man, I see your point but it just isn't worth keeping a balance at a 20 cent book unless that scenerio happens every day. We all have limited bankrolls and most of the time we'd get a better line from a dime line book. If I was betting with a credit office, that would be different.

IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHO OPENS FIRST WITH A 10 CENT LINE IF CRIS OPENS FIRST WITH
A 20 CENT LINE. I DONT THINK THESE BOOKS GOING TO 10 CENTS HAVE THE LIMITS CRIS HAS.
YOU MAY SEE GAMES MOVE MORE THAN 80 CENTS TO
A DOLLAR. THERE WILL BE MORE SCALPING THAN
WHAT HAPPENED AT LITTLE BIG HORN.

Old Man, please explain why you think the 20-cent line will create greater line movement and, hence, more scalping opportunities.

                          Oldman,

Who's to say next yesr they wont try going to a 30 cent line in bb and 6 to 5 come football. Cut and dry if people pull there money and find the honest books dealing a dime line, there doing the right thing here by taking a stand in what is right. It's the people like you they try to snow ball and get away with it. Read the posts there are plenty of books that are not going to change. There on BW and have reputable names,
give the business to them, it's that simple.

everybody coming into this post feels that the 20 cent books arent going to write any
business, therefore, in context, the line
should be stagnant, correct. book a deals
20/30, book b deals 15/35-now they run the fav up at book a 60/70, you being a scalper
would hope and pray book b is still at 15/35
or even 35/55! in reality, you know the 20 will catch up with the 10.

its going to be real interesting to see what
all the local "BIG OFFICES" throughout the
country that deal 10 cents and lay off to
CRIS do if CRIS deals them 20 cents.

I thought most of the books moved on air now anyway. The 20 cent books will move their line also, even if they haven't written anything.
