  • ? for Sportingbet re golf

Before I get into the question I would like to say that I like Sportingbet, their customer service and their massive golf matchups.BUT

On top of ties lose which everyone hates I noticed this week you have in addition went to 40 cent golf lines.

My question is can you name just one sportsbook that gives a worse scenario for golf betters.Just 1 mind you.

    I didn't think so.
Nice to know Olympia and others are now offering daily matchups.

With regards to the recent change to our golf lines. After consideration, we have decided to post next weeks lines using our previous prices.

At present, we have no immediate plans to remove the option of betting on the match-up to tie. Our current match-ups give the option of betting either player to win or the draw, therefore, ties will only be deemed losing bets if the selection chosen was not the draw. We have decided to keep this option at present as we have an international client base and this option is attractive to our other market areas.
www.sportingbet.com have recently submitted GBP3 million in to software development and these funds will be used to make improvements and additions to the current services that we offer. This will include the addition of new betting options that will be of interest to all the market areas that we cover.

    Kind Regards

      Joanne,

"Attractive to our other market areas."?
You sound like Senator McCain and Kyl.
I suppose $5 a gallon gas is attractive in the UK as well.

Purely means that UK and European punters have been duped for so long (taxes and margins), they wouldn't know value or a tight margin if it slapped them in the face.

I too like Sportingbet's wide variety of options on golf, but I'm boycotting any book which has the 'ties lose' rule ie. most of the euro books. Why bother when more books are creating their own matchups instead of using the LVSC matchups - there are so many different matchups available at present that golf punters don't need to take the risk of a tie in order to get their preferred matchup.

Thanks to Joanne for replying to Dogs question, at least now everyone knows where they stand - and I'm sure the lads will be happy that you are going back to the old lines.

Hopefully one day you will change your stance on 'ties lose' so I can become a client.

I have stated in the past that we always appreciate our customers' comments, suggestions and constructive criticisms as this enables us to review our current service in accordance to our customers' needs. It has become apparent that there is a demand from our North American clientele to offer our 72-hole match bets without the option of betting on the tie.
www.sportingbet.com have set high standards of customer service and this includes listening to our customer’s requests and suggestions. We have therefore, taken the necessary steps to make immediate changes to our 72-hole match betting options. Our prices for the US Masters 72-hole Match-bets will be available on Tuesday and these will be posted without the tie option. Any bets on these match-ups that tie will be considered as a push and stakes will be refunded to our customers' accounts accordingly.

I would also like to take this opportunity to advise our customers' of further information relating to our current deposit options. For those customers that aren't aware, we are currently in the process of upgrading our online credit card facility, at present this service will only accept Visa Card. This service will be upgraded very shortly so that other cards can be used online. As alternative deposit methods for our North American clientele, the following cards can be used by calling our helpline:

            Visa Card
            MasterCard
            American Express
            Discover

VC & MC are charged at 4%, however we cover the costs by way of a credit to our customers' accounts.

AMEX & Discover are charged at 5%, we will cover 4% of these costs by way of a credit to our customers' accounts.

            Kind Regards

Joanne- I think Sportingbet has done a great job listening to customer feedback and making changes regarding adding betting options since last year(baketball 1st halves and second halves, and now adjusting your golf matchups based on customer demand.)
My only complaint about Sportingbet is online I dont know how much I can bet, often I will try to place 2 like wagers same sport same amount and one goes through and one gets rejected. I would like to know before I place a bet how much I can win or risk on each bet without having to worry about the computer rejected it. I would specifically like to know what the online limits are on golf matchups,5 way golf group betting, Nascar to win betting, NBA 1st half and game side and total and baseball side and total.
