  • Bozos at Feist

When you use or try to use the Feist SportTracker system, you get the kind of technical support that you'd expect from Heist: Zero. They couldn't even begin to explain why my buddy, who down-loaded the software for a free trial, could not get into the system, why he kept getting the message that the server was not responding to his log-in request.

Furthermore, when I had initially talked to a sales rep, the idiot couldn't understand why Don Best is so much better.
He said he'd checked out Don Best and couldn't understand why I preferred it. He wanted me to explain why it was better.

    FYI,
I use both sportstracker and DB. Some computers will not run the latest sportstracker software. You have to download an older version. I have it on 6 computers.
My five Dells work great. My Sony computer had to have the old version software.

I ran the SportsTraker II free three day special over the weekend and after some long thinking decided to purchase it for one month. I run it right along with Don Best and it has worked fine for me. It is obviously not in the class of Don Best's service but for 249 a month, it will do the one thing that it has to do and that is show skybooks live lines. It will pay for itself within a day or two. My host asked me to compare Don Best to it and I decided not to even attempt to because if he can't see the difference than I would never be able to explain it to him. Hopefully sky will get back on the DB screen soon. It's a pain in the butt having to run two line programs twice a day every day.

Since I have Windows 2000 sportstracker will not even run on my main computer.

Now not only do I need 2 lines services but two different computers!

Thanks again Don Best for screwing everything up by dropping Skybook ...

I also tend to side with Skybook on this one, but I don't think the players should pay an extra expense to get their live lines.

Let's hope that Skybook figures out how to either create their own live lines webpage, or hook up to another live feed.

Dana, if you insist upon exclusive rights to a book's lines, then why are two other Don Best books allowed on SportsTracker? Why are these books and not Skybook allowed to be on SportsTracker?

Lets be patient with the Feist system-he has enough money to make the improvements on his tracker program, to give Don Best competition. As long as the books want their numbers and names exposed, it will make more room for others to join the computer updating game, and then the only name on the Don Best screen will be CRIS. Not even Microsoft could hold a monoploy, and I doubt Dana is smarter then Bill Gates. Funny how this all seemed to start from the 20-cent movement.....hmmmmm

stewsdad, Feist's specialty is boiler room operations, convincing squares that his "Inner Circle" will make them untold riches. There is no way he will give the same dutiful attention to a sports screen that Dana does. Feist is too busy making sure he gives out one side of a play East of the Mississippi and the other side West to concern himself with the intricacies necessary to run a a first-class sports screen.

Dana, i am not a customer but have heard nothing but great things about your service and commend you for that.i cant understand why you expect loyalty from these people.{bookmakers} those days are long gone.there is no loyalty and honor.that's only in the movies. these books want one thing and thats our money. i see in the very near future a site with free service as good as yours. this will attract all the people who pay large amounts for your service and feists'as well as the ones who cant afford it.the owner of this site will be an agent for all the books on his service. i feel your customers don't want to pay they have to. this is not an attack on you or your service but i am sure you have seen my point in real life with your business and the cliental you serve. good luck.

Don Best very simply put runs the best shop by far. They also have loyal books that dont run around saying the world will end without them.I deal with a couple these on the screen who deal a dine line, take big hits & the # is there day in & day out. These are Caribi& Sports-Market.When somone tells me how great they are over&over&over, well you get the point& they have been caught with thier hand in the cookie jar more than once.Don Best knows you cant please all the people but they please more than the average for this kind of business.analyzer

There is no comparison between Feist & Don Best line service we all know that. Don Best crushes him.
One thing I want everyone to know is that these days Jim Feist is not near as big as he once was. He is still a monster in this business but nothing like before. I've said it before and I'll say it again. This fall there will be a totally free internet site with dozens of offshore sports book live odds on it. Remember when you had to pay to call a scorephone? (900 0r 976 numbers) Free scorephones put them out of business. This free internet site will be the stuff. There will be no rules regarding 10 or 20 cent lines. The only rule will be. If an offshore sports book posts a line on the screen, they will have to honor it. Period. You don't get that guarantee from Feist or Don Best now.

"all I ask is for the exclusive right to provide those lines. That is made very clear at the beginning of the relationship, and is not asking for much"-Don Best......what else do you need to deter competition, their first born?
