sports pagers?

I am thinking of getting a sports pager in the next two weeks and was wondering who offers the best lines, etc.

Probably the Sports Now pager.Skybook's lines are on there,as well as a few other "Island lines".

The only way I could see them making that pager better would be to add a live line from offshore as opposed to the Mirage.

I suggest that you review my comments in the bookieshell posting forum. you can access with a search for your topic...sports pagers. While on this subject Sportsnow owes me $35 for a pager i returned to them. I have misplaced their phone number, does anyone have the number??

The number for Sportsnow is 1-800-2621668. I think the Sportsnow pager is ok, but the Mirage live line to me is a waste. An offshore live line would be much better. By the way, does anyone know of an inexpensive sports pager that just gives scores?

Thanks Sniper....but I was more interested in subscribing to an inexpensive pager service(if one exists), that just gives scores. The Sportsnow pager is good, but their island lines are not live, and I am getting them from the Don Best Island Express. So I really only need a pager for scores.

I was thinking of doing The Don Best thing. Can I usually get the lines on the feed at the offshores, or are they so late they disappear. What's the percentage that you're able to capture off the feed. Thanks in advance.

Boomer......I am under subscription to Don Bests Island Express. The way I understand it, the lines update every 2 minutes. They aren't delayed in any way, it's just that they are updated every 2 minutes. Island Express has the sharpest books of all the line services. I find them better than all the other services with the exception of the Don Best premier service. I can't afford the price on that one.(500 a month).

In case anyones interested, i contacted Sportsnow today. I spoke with Dave who indicated he didn't have my c/c info to issue a $35 credit. I provided him with the info, and he promised to issue the credit today. I'll keep ya posted. To Jacmar; if you are only interested in scores.... look into the Sportstrax by Motorola. I think they have pagers for baseball and pro baskets only. they cost about $100 and they provide service for apprx. 3 seasons. i've got one now for the NBA which is due to expire. Thanks lakrfan.....But I do want the football and college scores too. I guess the least expensive one out there is still Sportsnow. The Motorola that you mentioned is good for those sports that you mentioned. But I would like one pager that gives all the scores. Guess I'm stuck with Sportsnow,

Just a suggestion, I use Sports Box out of NY. 1-800-867-7678. They have 2 services. East Coast and Nationwide. The only difference is Horse Racing on East Coast version only. Scores actually every 2-3 minutes. They use the little Motorola Elite Flex Pager. I had them about 5 years ago but wanted a Nationwide Service so I switched to SportsNet in the middle 1-800-562-8131. They were pretty good also but now this SportsBox place really improved their service so im back with them. You'll have to call them on their service options because in not sure what they offer. Motorola also had a full service a few years ago and i had them. But they went bad or something and merged with ESPN on their pager.They are only offering Top 25 scores which is no good for me. The other 2 I mentioned give the full board. Never tried SportNow so i can't compare services, sorry. Sportsnet states their good in Canada also. Don't know about SportsBox.

Thanks. Do you happen to know the price for sportsbox and what they charge monthly? I will give them a ring but I have a feeling that Sportsnow will still be a little less expensive than Sportsbox.
