Have heard them mentioned many times. What are they?? A group of books that are partners?? A group of books sharing the same space?? A group of books using the same software??
Anyone know??
Unified Gaming is a software provider only. They supply sportsbook & casino software for 32 different clients. Some of these clients use an E-cash company called Perplexa to process their deposits and redemptions. If you have any additional questions regarding Unified Gaming, you can visit their website at www.unifiedgaming.com
The sportsbook operations of the Unified Gaming group are completely independent of one another. The only thing they have in common is the software interface. About half use Perplexa as their cash processing center.
The one common thread they all share are the integrated casino games. The progressive slot jackpots are all built from the pool of Unified Gaming clients. That is why you see progressive jackpots in the $100K range frequently. It is the comingled pool of contributions from the 30 or so clients in this group.
Also because of adequate cash reserves, there has never been a Unified Gaming Sportsbook that has closed down and non-payed.
An outstanding track record not equalled by the other giant of the industry, Starnet. There are now I believe, about 32 Unified Gaming client software sportbooks, and there has not been one case of no pay among them that stuck.
I'm not saying they never slow-payed. I been in probably half of them at one time or another and I've been paid mostly within five days (ordered Monday, received Friday), but once in a blue moon it took 2-3 weeks or so.
Many of them now control their own payouts as stated previously and among those the average is 3-4 days, well within the acceptable range.
The reason I like these books and never go into more than one Starnet book at a time is that, unlike Starnet, they offer variances in wagering lines. Every book has their own lines manager and for a guy who shops numbers like I do all day long, it gives me some more choices.
One of my newest favorites, Five Dimes, which has as many offers to bet on as I've ever seen, takes a whopping five dimes on sides AND totals. I hven't been in there long but I like what I've seen so far.
But the bottom line is, until one of them goes under, I feel safe keeping my money in a Unified Gaming sportsbook.
Boomer i am assuming that you are using these books and betting via telephone. I couldn't imagine betting into these shops day in and day out over the net. The software isn't up to snuff, then again most of the turnkey solutions have mediocre software so i guess that puts the unified books near the top hunh
You stated because of adequate cash reserves none have ever gone under. Does Unified demand a certain amt. in escrow or X amt as startup. Or are you making an assumption??
Unified Gaming software:

PS.I'd like to hear from any one using
5Dimes.Is thier online service slow at
crunch time?
One of the reasons I "like" the Unified Gaming books, is that they are "easy in - easy out". The lines load quickly and it is easy to navigate. No doubt, they are graphically "challenged", but I'm not looking for a lot of hoopla graphics when I enter an online book. I'm looking to get in, shop the lines, and get out quickly. The Unified gaming interface does this quite well. If you're looking for a carnival interface, stick with the Starnet books.

I use 5Dimes and must concede that getting in at 6:50 pm can sometimes be a hassle. This is more due to server capacity, bandwidth problems, etc, but not the software itself. Just too many steam chasers trying to hit the site all at once.
Their phone service, however, is pretty good, and I tend to use it more frequently anyway since their online limit is only $250 a pop. If you want a dime or more, its just easier to call them. I only once had a problem getting through by phone, but I think it was on a day when all of Costa Rica was down.
Generally, I'm pretty positive on this up and coming book. They have props galore, although not all the phone clerks know how to find them when you ask. Just one of the growing pains to be expected. I'm sure they'll smooth things out as their staff gets more experience.
Boomer- 2 things, You stated that not one of the books of unified gaming have gone under and never non-payed which is unequaled by Starnet. Can you clarify what you mean? Are you saying Starnet has stiffed someone?
Second saying 5dimes takes 5 dimes on sides and totals is IMO false or shady advertising you can get 5 dimes if you punch the same play 20 times and the number does'nt get moved on you during the time your doing this(which I doubt). On the phone they might take this but online the limits are really 250 which you can punch multiple times but also the number can move on you at anytime.

Starnet is the McDonalds of the software gaming industry. I don't want to be unfair to Patrick of Sportsbook.com but I have read from a legitimate source that a Starnet Licensee closed down and sued the company and held players funds. I truthfully don't know enough about Starnet to know if they'll guarantee one of their Licensee's player's funds on deposit. I personally never lost a dime, but I haven't been in Starnet books a whole lot compared to Unified Gaming because there was no reason to be..and the reason is simple...they all have the same lines, you're in one, you're in them all.
On the other hand I do know quite a bit about Unified Gaming books and am comfortable leaving a substantial amount on deposit with them. I'm not telling anyone what to do, I'm telling you what I do.
I do know the people behind each of the books I have been in and know the people who manufacture the software and they are solid and reputable. That doesn't mean that not one of them could never go under, but as I've said in the past, I put my money where my mouth is and I maintain what I consider substantial balances at many Unified Gaming sportsbooks.
I do, however, have a certain comfort level financially with each of them and I vary my payouts and balances based on that and other factors.
Please don't ask me about my which ones I'm most secure in because I don't see their financial statements and its just based on my gut instinct, which is wrong alot of the time.
if you think that the unified gaming software enables you to "get in and out" quickly then we will just agree to disagree.
I am not looking for bells and whistles in software, nor graphics as you stated. I like you want basic text ala WSEX. My point was the unified gaming software is basically clunky to use, part of this is due to bandwidth/server concerns, and part is due to the basic navigational structure of the sites.
At last count i currently have accounts (funded) with about 16 books that offer online wagering, you could probably add 25 or more in which i have bet and maintain accounts but do not use on a day to day basis.
Which sportsbooks have software that i like? Here is my extremely short list of books that i would deem having software that i find easy to use, and well thought out.
1. WSEX
2. Olympic
What do these sites have in common? They were developed "in house" and are absolutely unique and unlike anything else out there. The sites are all text and don't display anything not pertaining to the task at hand, namely getting in and placing your bet.
I have accounts at GoTo, 5 dimes, and Island, and it always takes me WAY longer to place a bet or view the lines at these books in comparison to WSEX and Olympic, Island seems to be the best of the 3, with 5 dimes being the worst.
I love the fact that 5 dimes and GoTo have tons of available bets (5 dimes especially) but i hate the fact that it seems to be a laborious process to place a wager (at times).
I also run a cable modem, thus the problem is not on my end.
