Just read a mention in handicapping forum about this book: http://sportsbetonline.com/ and I checked out the site.

They say nothing of themselves history-wise other than indicating they are 30 miles north of the US/Canadian border in North America. Probably on Indian reservation like SIA, but they mention nothing specific. Anyone know anything of or about them? They are offering a free $20 play ala Big Book et al.

I dealt with http://www.sportsbetonline.com and found them to be very professional. I took the free $20 and they also gave me 15% on all deposits. I collected 3 times from them, each time credits back on my credit card.

I trust them.

DukeDog - If you collected back to your credit card you didn't really collect, you just got your deposited money back. They cannot make payments to a credit card, only reversal of previous transactions for exactly the same amount as your deposits.

Kinda funny how you registered today and your one and only post so far is "defending" this joint...

Do you really trust sending your money to a PO Box address in Quebec?

Oh yeah, they are "open 10am to 10pm... What about those 10:30 EST starts?

I called their 1-800 number and they are located "just outside Montreal". I asked if the are licensed by the Canadian government and the guy on the phone "Colin" said "I don't know"!

Not a shop I would want to post up with!

Its true that I have not yet won. The point I was trying to make was that they returned my money when I requested it hassle free. Its not their fault I cant pick bb.

I just phoned there to play my $20 free bet.
Colin was the guy that I spoke to there as well.
I asked him one simple question. How long they have been in operation for. And his reply was that he did not know.
Sounds very iffy to me.

I think what Goon means is that the books can only credit a card up to the amuont that has been previously charged to that card. In other words, it's not possible to collect net winnings by credit card.

Why? This is a good question. My guess is that it is a matter of expense to the books.

Oz - Sportshobby is correct. Theoretically they could but none of them do it. The only amounts you can get from them on a CC is a reversal of your deposit amount. It has to be for exactly the same amount also. Remember that it costs a vendor 3% for CC transactions, thus they will never incur any fees when they can take them from the player with those nice $30 wire transfer or DHL or whatever other mean of transportation they might use.

On a different note, they did give me the $20 free bet, let's see if I can build it and see if they pay as DukeDog says they do.

I think the reason they cant credit back is the fact that Visa/masterCard do not allow it. It has something to do with money laundering.

By the way what did you wager with you free $20. Let us know how they treat you and your free 20.

well, I have used a couple that will pay back to your credit card

and credit card company deals depend on who you are, as far as I know - credit cards would be fairly traceable money laundering??

I haven't seen this before? They offer it. This must be that sportsbook I read about somewhere that's owned by Sadaam Hussein.
