  • DOUBLE CHARGE BY WSEX...

HAS ANYONE BEEN DOUBLED CHARGE ON THEIR CREDIT CARD DEPOSITS TO WSEX LATELY??

  • #2
I’m hassling Olympic right now over a double charge. I’m pretty convinced that it is Olympic’s CC billing service, epaymentsolutions.com that is responsible though. Who does WSEX use for CC billing?

Wow!! I had a double charge from a Perplexa book just last week. I'd rather not mention the book's name, because I think the error was on the part of the cc processing company.
      Coincidence? I wonder.

I’d really like to know. I’m making zero progress both with Olympic and my CC company at getting the charges off. Epaymentsolutions.com keeps telling me it’s Olympic’s problem and won’t otherwise talk to me but when I talked to Mike at Olympic, he said that their internal logs show that they only posted one charge. I need some ammo to take to Olympic to show that I’m not the only one and if that doesn’t work, to help in formally contesting the charge w/ my CC company if it comes down to that.

Other than convenience, the biggest reason to use a credit card is aafety. After one attempt to correct the problem with the sportsbook involved, I'd just write a short letter and contest the double charge.

It really shouldn't be very difficult to win the contest. While they're investigating it, the charge is taken off your bill. And unless the merchant can produce some convincing evidence you'll most likely get a judgement in your favor.

I wonder if the credit card processing companies are really mixed up, or if there is some attempt at fraud there.

WSEX uses Epayment Solutions Int Surrey NV.
I also have a problem with CC charge at WSEX.
I tried to make a CC depostit. It was rejected. However, my CC was still charged
and I was not credited the money in my account. I working with WSEX to correct this.
I still waiting.. it has been over 2 weeks.

Guys, here is the response I got from Olympic:

              Hi Mark..

Here is the update I just got back myself. It seems not only were you affected but 125 other merchants that deal with the same bank in Denmark. During a certain period of time on April 29th, certain transactions were double posted by the bank. It was not initiated by us, or our processor, but the bank that actually processes the charges screwed up. They have sent out to all the merchants a message stating they have resolved all the transactions that were affected and have issued refunds accordingly. If you do not see the refund within the next five business days, please let me know. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and I hope for a speedy resolution to this situation. If there is anything more we can do for you, please let us know.

              Thanks for your patience,
              Mike

Unforntunately this a pretty common occurance with online transactions using satellite transmissions.
What frequently occurs is that the player will receive an error or timeout message before funds make it to the merchant.
When this happens the player will attempt to charge again.
The bank may have actually charged the card but the sportsbbook will have no record of a transaction taking place because of the previuos error.
So what basically happens is your funds are tied up in cyberspace and there is not much the book can do since they have no record of any transaction.
It usually will have to be handled directly with you CC company who can then contact the processor and have the charge reversed...

I am the Director of ePayment Solutions and we clear transactions for a variety of internet merchants and websites. The sites mentioned ie wsex, carib have had an issue that the issuing banks system has somehow duplicated a small batch of transactions from a specific time period.

All of these duplicated items have been reversed and will appear on the relevant accounts dated May 11th 2000.
This has been through no fault of the website owners and was an obscure and unforseeable one time error which has now been fully rectified. We appologise to the clients of these sites and trust that your business relationship with these site owners will in no way be tarnished. www.epaymentsolutions.com

                        MoneyWiz...

For the record, the Perplexa (now U Charged It) book I referred to in my earlier post in this thread also promised me a credit back and it has not yet appeared on my statement. Maybe they were one of those 100+ merchants dealing with the Danish bank mentioned by tbrown. My double charge occured on May 2nd. I noticed it on my statement on the 8th of May and immediately contacted the book and their accounting folks. I was promised a refund by the 17th of May (have email to prove it) and as of today (May 23rd), I still have nothing. Worse yet, they are not answering phones or responding to email.

To this point, I have given these folks the benefit of the doubt, but I have also asked for a transaction reference number regarding my credit back and so far they have simply made excuses. I will give them one or two more days max to provide a transaction reference number, which should be easy to provide, unless they have been less than truthful with me regarding when they claim to have processed my credit card.

Its too bad because I believe the sportsbook involved is not behind this, but the poor customer service provided by their credit card processing company does not reflect well on them, and my business with them has tailed off considerably.

For the record, I did eventually get my double-charge reversed. However, that being said, I'm still very disappointed in my dealings with epaymentsolutions.con even if the original error was not their fault. They should have been faster to credit. If I ever need to recharge my account w/ Olympic, I'll have to think twice before I do so by Credit Card.
