  • Question for Dunes Sports

Your advertisement states that "only sportsbook to offer betting in progress". Just curious how you came up with that given the interactives at WSEX and the betting in progress offered at Victor Chandler, Interbet and other books.

Our Betting-in-Progress differs from that offered by any other book. We allow a customer to call our wagering line, and place a wager at any point during a given event (all events that are televised or that we can obtain sufficient information about are offered). The customer can choose a point spread, a money line, a total, etc.

The customer must place a wager once they are given a line. Between one and five units can be wagered (the amount of each unit is set fort at the start of the call). This ensures that only serious players utilize this wagering option. The minimum amount per unit is $100.

We are aware that other sportsbooks offer wagering options similar to our Betting-In-Progress. However, the way we structure it does differ from anyone else and usually presents some unique and beneficial wagering options to our customes.

      Dunes,

Like the feel of your website and love the dime lines and their shadings, but no NBA moneylines? Is this something you might add next season?

Do you make more money with Spread betting? I think it will hit the USA soon. Endless bets being place. Do you take bets like who will score next?

We do currently offer NBA moneylines. They can be found under Miscellaneous on the website and if you do not see what you are looking for you can always give us a call at 877-275-6280 and we would be happy to help you out.

We do offer "make your own propositions" with regard to Betting-in-Progress as well. Who scores next could be difficult because the event could be completed while you are on the telephone; however, you can wager on a variety of other options during a given game.

betting in progress on pointspreads and totals is certainly different, for a non-spread betting firm

Do you offer make your own props before a game starts? I think Boomer mentioned this a while back...if the rest of the world has a baseball total at say 8.5ov or 9un30...would you quote a moneyline on 9.5? Would you use the must bet 1-5 units policy on something like that?

The make your own proposition feature differs from Betting-in-Progress. This is not based on units; it is simply suggesting a prop before the start of the game, receiving a line, and placing a wager.

We are willing to offer different lines for customers on numbers as suggested by Shifty Sheik. All you have to do is call our wagering line and make your request. Those types of requests do not fall into the Betting-in-Progress category. When you want to place a bet in progress you state that at the start of the call so that you may be directed to the appropriate linesman to assist you.

                    Sheik,

This is one reason is love The Dunes. Their head linesmaker there, Jason, would quote me a custom line if I requested it. This has nothing to do with "Betting in Progress" in which you must commit to a predetermined amount per unit once a line is quoted.

The custom line I've requested comes in handy when one of my books never seems to want to go above -125 on a total, so they go to a higher or lower number. From experience I know that the line they created is off and it creates scalping or middling opportunities, which I then proceed to match up against Dunes.

Dunes never requires a wager on one of these custom lines, but I just about always give him action on these wagers. Great thing about The Dunes is they always take five dimes from me on these numbers, and they always give me the "right" number. They definitely know what they're doing.

In the short month or so that I've had a relationship with them, they have been nothing but great.Jason has gone out of his way for me more than once.Ask him for a line on a game in progress, and he will give you one right away,no stalling around. One of the sharpest guys around and also one of the nicest.

I can honestly say that I know little about Dunes, but from what I'm reading I'm impressed. If I was a bigger bettor I'd consider signing up.

BTW, on a different note (and to clarify), I'm assuming when you refer to making your own lines, that would just be on the major sports - football, basketball and baseball. Am I correct.

For example I couldn't say this weekend that I want a line on a Formula 1 matchup for Michael Shumacher to beat Jos Verstappen .

I opened an account last week and had the pleasure of trying the betting in progress. I was very impressed....I called up and they transferred me to Jason, the head linesmaker...He will quote you a line in baseball and basketball at any time during the game....although the lines do get a bit ridiculous in the 4th quarters or 9th inning if you're taking the leading team....Personally, I believe Dunes will be setting the standards for bookmaking in the future....definitely a recommendation!

Question for Dunes: When college foots & hoops roll around, will you be willing to quote a total on a game if it isn't listed on the board in Vegas(not on T.V)?
