What's the current deal with these people? I just came accross a new company that is based in England and serves the UK public:
    http://www.betonsports.co.uk/index2.shtml

Site seemed decent and they take local UK debit cards, but that logo in the corner is of concern to me. They are not on the list so there is obviously a very good reason that. Is this another stiff operation that they are doing under a different name?

To the best of my knowledge they are nowhere near the UK. Remember, having a .uk URL does not mean you are there.

Now, they claim on their site to be licensed there. Anyone from England want to let us know what body is in charge of this and how we can check it out?

    William Hill Victor Chandler, anybody???

I remember reading that they had applied for a UK license, possibly to gain market share and credibility in that area.

Just check the archives for the reason they're not on the list.

I was told by very reliable sources that NASA
Sports International is being investigated heavily by the Department of Justice for paying and collecting here in the States.

Rumors usually have some substance. More times than not when you hear something as rumor it becomes truth sooner than later.

Plain and simple NASA SPORTS INTERNATIONAL IS ONE OF THE MOST SOLID BOOKS I HAVE EVER PLAYED WITH......

Besides is it not true that all these books are being checked out all the time for paying and collecting in the states maybe Johnny can tell us more about this or at least keep us informed.

very true, no reason having a .co.uk means you are in the uk

              Cons, I'd stay away

I received an e-mail from Nasa stating that they have received a license in the UK or they merged with someone over there. I deleted the e-mail and don't remember the details. It is the same company in Costa Rica though, that I do remember.

It's not the domain name that had me thinking so, but the fact that they use Switch cards. Now the only country where these cards are issued and used is the UK. In fact it is very difficult for an offshore operator to be able to conduct transactions using this card. I also believe they have to be linked with one of the main four banks in England to be able to do so.

As far as the bookmakers permit is concerned, I'm not sure if they have one. But then a bookmakers permit is not that hard to get here. Holding on to it is though.

A lot of books claim to be with IBAS, the independent arbitrator. Although it's nice to list something like this on the web site, it's not legally binding as far as I know. When a bookie agrees to use IBAS for disputes it simply means that someone neutral will look at your case. But it's all up to the goodwill of the bookmaker to agree with the verdict and deal accordingly. So if you ever see IBAS listed, don't think of it as a guarantee. Simply think of it as a bookmaker saying, "We will pass the dispute on to IBAS to decide the outcome, and abide by its decisions." With the British bookmakers this will always be the case, but remember that practically any place can sign up with IBAS as it's a voluntary thing for the book.

Just in case I didn't make myself clear, I am not signing up with this book. If any of the citizens here at Bettorsworld have had bad experiences with NASA Int in general, then that in itself is more than enough for me to stay away. It's sort of like the "Patrick" situation, where I won't sign up with anything even remotely connected to him if a single person gets 'robbed' at any of his books.

Normally the acceptance of Switch (or Solo, Delta) cards has been the ultimate test of credibility for me, but now that I have come across this NASA book my test is no loger valid.

                    Thanks for the info everyone.
