  • Regarding Samantha's article (Dunes Sports)

After reading your article several times here are my few feedbacks or comments. Withdrawal procedures on W. Union should be always be the same pay PERIOD, no excuse for that. If some other books could do it, to mention CRIS, WWTS, POST TIME, SOS, etc., etc. why can't others. Fedex payouts should always be the next day if a request was made on time to make everyone happy. After sending you guys a very low four figure amount to start with here are my feedbacks.

    1.) Lines are very competitive.
2.) Customer service from 1-10 (10 being the highest), I would say 7.
3.) Online wagering is "terrible". From the time I started, I was placing a play for over $250 and I just couldn't get through. Called customer service and I was told that your software is currently down and couldn't take wager over $250. From the time I started wagering till the end I wasn't able to go online.
4.) Payouts - No comment yet. Didnt have the opportunity since you guys beat me. " I will be back" for sure.
5.) Betting in progress - this option if you guys would keep it the way it is, you will go a long way. You will attract lots of customers most specially this coming football season.
6.) Bonuses - very genorous. In fact so genorous that some clients would find it scary to get in.

Overall, I would rate it at 7' so far. Hard to tell yet since I haven't had the experienced of the most important "payout".

Note: No baseball run lines while wagering online. I believe you have to call it in.

    Underdog,

Thank you for your feedback--it is much appreciated and will only help us improve. Just so that everyone is aware, the article was written as a general reference guide for making deposits and withdrawals. I polled people that worked in other establishments to provide the most broad base of information possible.

We do offer same day Western Union to customers as long as their requests are received before 1pm EST. Not everyone does this because not everyone has their Western Union situation structured the same. Next day FedEx is possible if the request is sent out early in the morning. If it is processed after noon, it is very difficult to get this out next day.

Our online software will be completely revamped within the next couple of weeks. We are aware of the issues associated with it.

Again, thanks for the feedback. If you have any other questions or comments, feel free to pass them along.

    Samantha

      Samantha,

If only every sportsbook had someone with your people skills! You make everyone feel good, even those complaining.

Underdog, not at all. I really appreciate your review, broad and objective.

Samantha has set a good example in replying to all rants and raves.

Believe me I really hope Dunes succeeds, but their online software is terrible:

            (A) Listed futures available: None

            (B) Want to bet $250 on a +210 baseball dog: Nope, win limit is $500 online

            (C) How about the Lakers on the moneyline in the final NBA game of the year: Nope, no moneyline online.

            (D) How about any of the dozen or so NBA props available elsewhere: Nope, nothing at all online at the Dunes.

OK, maybe you can get all the above by calling in. But what is the point of being online when you can't bet anything online?!?

The ideal situation is to have both internet and phone wagering opportunities from the same account. And I suppose we can't expect to get big limits over the internet in all cases.

For the bigger bettors who will be using mostly the phone, live odds are a must. Calling in the check the lines is (thankfully) going by the wayside. Putting them on the sportsbook's web site is good, but putting them on a live odds feed is even better.

How about it, Dunes? Any plans to provide your lines on one of the line services?

We do have plans to go on a live odds feed in the near future--before the start of football season. Our number one priority right now is getting our Internet software fully functional and user friendly. Once we have accomplished that we will be ready for such a feed. Stay tuned for further information; we will certainly be keeping everyone informed on this issue.

                Thanks again guys!
