Pokers and Koshers

I consider myself an excellent baseball bettor and usually beat the "steam" by a while. So I would know after the gave moved that I had the "right" side. Now that the pokers have stopped (temporarily I hope), I feel that my plays aren't being validated. Small line movement trickles are usually just normal bettors moving the line, not wiseguys. My question is how can we know that you've bet the right side unless there are the wiseguy groups banging out a bad line.
Also, I'm wondering what the Koshers' year-to-date record is?
The Pokers ended up -7.8 units. (Though many thought it was worse)...

Who is to say that the Wiseguys bang out the right side of games? I saw many more situations this year (compared with the last three) where I was scratching my head and saying, "why are they betting so and so's team?". I disagreed with a lot of what they bet this year, baseball is a strange sport. This has to do with sides only, when I match up on a total with them, I fire away and I am killing people. Totals are the way to go.

The pokers and koshers didnt stop because they were winning.If you stop and think about it,all they are is an opinion with a bigger bankroll.They get respect when they win and when they lose they get little or no respect and rightfully so.Maybe theyre still playing and the BM's dont care.

Sharpie, I have a real good feel for lines on baseball sides, and I can usually tell which way wiseguys and the public will bet the games. However, I have no clue whatsoever as to how the Pokers would come up with their plays (beyond the simulation program they are rumored to use),or which way they would bet. It astounds me that they won so big last year. But I am not the least surprised that they lost this year.

I don't like to beat a dog when it is down, but often they would come on a game that had already moved strongly against them. How can anyone in their right mind bet huge amounts of money on a game that is, say, +120 in the afternoon, which in the morning was +135? If they were truly astute and organized, they would have come in mornings on games that were destined to move against them throughout the day.

But I love the Pokers. Because win or lose, they create "steam," which is the life-blood of a scalper.

A "wiseguy" would never take +110 on a game when the morning showed they could have had +125.We have a saying "Why be there for the funeral when you missed the wedding?"The pokers/koshers get my attention but respect,no.I have no problem going against one of their favorite moves if I can grab an inflated dog number from some book looking for buyback.

If you guys remember it was said that they couldn't continue their torrid win pace for much longer, and that the knee-jerk reaction to twenty cent lines was a mistake.

Does this means that if the Pokers quit for the season, the books will go back to ten cent lines.

I hope so, but sincerely doubt it.

The 20-cent line was a BIG, BIG mistake. It was a tactical error that completely backfired on CRIS. Caribi now has stolen their thunder as well as a large chunk of their customer base.

In fact, a CRIS Bigwig admitted to a friend of mine that it has cost them a lot of business and money. Fact is, they couldn't have picked a worse year to make the switch.

I think you have to remember that the pokers and koshers are just two opinions. Two opinions with alot of money and alot of people "working" for them.

There's a handful of other, "true" wiseguys, who play big and have nothing to do with either group. Some even have a small following.

Wiseguys don't always agree with each other.

When following the Pokers how did you know if it was a Poker play or a personal play from DB. I know he made plenty of personal plays that had nothing to do with the group
just simply his opinion.

Devil, is not DB 50% of the Pokers? And CR the other 50%? How many other people are involved?

I moved for the Pokers for awhile last season, and I never heard anything about a distinction between DB's personal plays and the group's. The only way those big, almost instantaneous moves could take place was with a network set up to simultaneously hit every major out.
