As for today, one of my books has Finnish Veikausliga.

I base all my selections simply on whatever stats I find, and try to look for value by comparing my book's odds with those of other sportsbooks. Not exactly rocket scientist stuff, but I have been quite lucky with my picks so far.

I don't even watch the games, even if they are available on my dish. This is for two reasons:

a) I find soccer to be a bit on the boring side, no offense to any soccer fans

b) I don't watch most of the games I bet. I get too nervous, especially if the wager is large. I do follow my games on the net, and should my team be winning by a comfortable margin, then I might watch it on my dish.

Sorry, I flew off on a tangent there. Well, I was thinking of playing Lahti at home today at -125. If you're still around, I would welcome any opinions that you may have regarding today's games. They go off in about 45 minutes.

I have already played Cordoba to win, and tie in the Argentine Clausura. Cordoba was +225.

1.85 is pretty close to -125. Tampere and Vaasa are both miserable teams, but my book has Tampere at +230 which is better than most books, and probably worth a small play strictly on value.

I'm not sure I understand. But I'll probably lay $625 to get back $500 on Lahti, and screw the tie.

$200 on Tampere, and enough on the tie to get my win money back.

Yes, Olympic usually has totals for the Finnish Veikausliga. But I guess they were getting drilled on the totals one too many weeks, and decided to take a breather.

This league seems to be extremely low scoring. Olympic used to open the o/u at 3 goals (-120 both ways) for all the games, and the bettors kept pounding the under. The totals are lower now, and rightfully so.

this year there were an abnormally high number of draws at the start of the Veikkausliga compared to previous seasons, hence lower scoring
