i'm not sure what freak's motive was for posting error, but as i said earlier, i e-mailed post time last nite at 11:30 when i discovered the "obvious" mistake.

to me, the question is - who SHOULD BE responsible for "mistakes". should it be BUYER BEWARE or the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

what if the posted line was -130 rather than the +103. would it have been an obvious mistake? would a book honor that mistake, because it's not obvious?

and of course there is a small percentage of people who don't shop and were just making a normal bet without intentionally taking advantage of a "bad line".

maybe there is a need for a policy change among the books??? gray areas are killers.

The purpose of the post was to get public reaction to a said real fact situation.

Unlike others who come here cry wolf, and don't tell all the facts I did.

Now the whole point is this, who's responsibility is it to make sure the lines are right ? The player betting it, or the shop posting it?

As for comments to the effect I increased exposure to PT on posting this, you yourself said that not many bet overnight. If I was out to harm the book, I definitely wouldn't post such information here, it would of went to the bookies hell forum where more people frequent.

Perhaps in the future this situation won't come about, but it was a great example of how players are boxed in, and certainly not the book.

The book can cancel any bet, any time, without any recourse, so as to putting the book on the defense, I actually gave them the right to do what they needed to do.

To me it sounds as if you are mad, the players didn't get away with the bets?

Now if PT feels they need to come here to post in response tis there perogative not mine.

      So the question rages on.....

When does the players responsibility begin when betting what they feel are weak or bad lines...

      Freewilly you are correct.....

Let me pose this in closing.....

      Last night......

      Detroit at Milwaukee....

      4 books and their lines

Post Time Detroit -103 Milwaukee -107
Premiere League Detroit -108 Milwaukee -102
      Gameday Detroit Pick Milwaukee -110
      Dunes Detroit -103 Milwaukee -107

Does Premiere have a bad line ????

Guess it all depends what side of the fence your on....

        i agree freak.

right now the books (by the rules they set) are in a no lose situation. in your tiger/brewer example it appears as though there are no "bad lines". certainly, anyone with these 4 outs would play det. ev at gameday or mil. -102 at premiere depending who they like. as a result of the "weak lines" these 2 books will(could) get lopsided action on the game.

how would it be if brewers won and premiere claimed no bet due to a mistake or tigers won and gameday voided the tickets.

i agree with the statement made by Chillin that if you trust the sportsbooks with your money, you must also trust their integrity to make a fair judgement.

the reality remains that the books position themselves so that they can't lose.

on the other hand, i commend the books willing to accept the risk with posting overnites and futures. they provide a great service that some of us appreciate and utilize. thanks.

Freak & Freewilly, obviously you chose to respond to PART of my post and ignore the rest. I'm not mad at anybody. What I'm annoyed at is the rehashing of the same stuff that will have no resolution.....when the best thing sometimes is to keep your mouth shut. Now Freak, if you re-read my previous post and still can't figure out what I'm talking about, then nevermind.

I don't think the area is that gray,in vegas the gaming commision says books must pay up to a +4 that is really a -4,

3yrs ago mirage breifly had Delahoya +1200 instead of -1200,after some hesitation the 4or5 people who got down, got paid.

Reno is correct 65 cents off, that's Neb -42 instead of-45 and should be forced to honor.that aint even 10-10-220

one final post and then i will move on as well.

chestrockwells: are you suggesting that the "mistake" should have been ignored by freak and me. let the "astute" shopper take advantage of the mistake and the sportsbooks should "honor" these few overnite bets. if i understand you correctly, you're missing the point.
