  • Good news from Sportbet and Island Casino

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

For everybody who is familiar with me, or with whom I have dealt with in the past, I am pleased to announce my recent move to General Manager of the Sportbet and Island Casino group. Those of you who know me know my commitment to excellence, as well as to servicing my clients. I pride myself in that respect and, as some of you know, I will do my best to make sure every one of our clients continues to have positive experiences when dealing with Sportbet or Island Casino. If I haven't had the pleasure of speaking with you, or if anyone ever has a complaint, comment, or suggestion feel free to call me at 800-214-1788 or 800-511-4844. I am always available for our clients, both current and future. Thank you for your time and attention and best of luck!

Jake, your name sounds very familiar. Please provide us with some info on your offshore background.

Regarding Island and Sportbet, what improvements and changes are you planning? And how about giving 'ol Chester a raise? The fact that he is true BM who moves on action rather than air will make these books a lot of money in the long run.

      Reno,

Thanks for taking the time to post. You probably remember me as the Customer Service Manager of betmaker.com. I used to post under the username "Face". We spoke a couple of times when you were still a client there. I have been in the offshore industry for just two years, but I have been involved in Customer Service for over 10 years.

As for the second part to your question, I plan on focusing a lot of attention on our Customer Service and making our clients happier. The bookmaking aspect, as you well know and pointed out, is in very capable hands with Chester in charge. In the coming months you will see positive changes to the website and overall service that we provide. I am determined to continue the tradition of Sportbet and Island Casino in not only being leaders in this industry, but also be companies for others to emulate. Thanks, again.

      Jake

Jake, this is good news. Chester has established quite a good repore with lots of significant posters here.

I noticed that both Sportbet and IslandCasino have been recently added to the IslandXpress (now free) line service. I suppose the only thing left now is to sign up.

At the risk of a commercial, could you give us some more general info on these two sportsbooks (location, size, number employees, history, limits, promos, etc)?

Jake-Whats the difference between the 2 as far as bet offers?Do you accept/send transfers to/from other sportsbooks? If so which ones?

I sincerely hope that Island and Sportbet don't turn into a Betmaker-like clone joint that kicks out wiseguys like yours truly.

Jake, is the free match play (for initial deposits) good also if the initial deposit is made by way of a transfer from another sportsbook?

Do you typically transfer funds between your books and other sportsbooks? If so, which ones and are there fees and restrictions?

              Thanks

                Jake,
Chester suggested in this forum, about 2 months ago, that Island Casino would be changing over to 6 days a week payout availability. When can the betting public expect that LONG OVERDUE change. Payouts on "Mondays only" have always been and will continue to be a joke. Perhaps the change has already been made. This would be a good place to announce if so.

Sportshobby, bbuster, Reno, and the rest,

Thank you for the compliments. I was out of the office yesterday, or I would have gotten back to you sooner. Let's see what I have for you.

Sportbet and Island Casino are located in the San Pedro area, just outside of San Jose. We are in a building that houses many other offshore books. We currently have over 100 employees and a customer base of around 35,000, between the two. As for our history, we have had an impeccable record for the past 3 years, and we will continue to match that reputation.

Our limits are posted on the site, under the "Help" link. I could go into them all, but that would take up a lot of space due to the numerous sports. I will say that for football we will have limits of 5 dimes on sides and 2 dimes on totals. Those of you who want a higher limit need only to call and talk to Chester for approval. We can always work something out.

We are currently offering our new clients $50 match play for deposits ranging from $200-$499, 10% match play for deposits of $500-$999, and 10% match play + a $50 3-team parlay for deposits of $1,000 or more. You can pick up an additional 5% match play bonus when depositing $1000 or more if you deposit via banwire or Western Union, for a total match play bonus of 15%. In the near future, and as football season draws closer, we will have a few more promotions to offer, both new and existing clients.

We do offer transfers between sportsbooks, but only in certain instances. If anybody is interested in this form of deposit, just give us a call at 800-214-1788 or 800-511-4844. All initial deposits receive the pertaining match play bonus, regardless of the method. Both companies operate independantly of each other, but share the same management. Of course we are able to transfer funds between the two. We also offer the same sports, including horse racing on 45 different tracks. Of course, that number varies on a daily basis. I think that covers all of Sportshobby's and bbuster's questions. Now to Reno.

Reno, I have watched you post for close to two years and, when I was able, I watched you play. I respect what you have to offer and the type of player that you are. I assure you, after talking to Chester, that you are more than welcome in either one of our establishments, or both. If you, or anybody else, choose to open an account with Sportbet or Island Casino, please call and ask for me. I enjoy speaking with our clients and making sure that they only receive the best service available.

I know that this post was a long one, but I felt the need to address every question asked. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify any issues that might have been presented and I encourage everybody to feel free to get in touch with me. I think that that about covers it. Thanks again for taking the time to ask questions and to read the responses. Best of luck to all!

                    SoCal,

Sorry that I missed your post. I was in the middle of my last post when you submitted it. We are in the process of changing our payout policy to being 7 days a week. Hopefully this will be done by football season. When this transition is finalized, I will let the readers of this forum know immediately. Thanks for your interest.

                      Jake,

Last Friday I called Island and asked if I could transfer funds from Island to my Sportbet account. I was told NO! When I asked why they wouldn't do this between two books in the same ownership group, I was simply told it was a "management" decision.

On Saturday, one day after my request for a transfer was denied, you come into this forum and tell the world that customers can transfer funds between their Island and Sportbet accounts.

Please Jake, tell us the truth. What is the deal on transfers and to whom do I have to beg in order to complete one between my Island and Sportbet account? Please pardon me if my tone is a bit sharp, but it is very frustrating to have been told I cannot transfer money between these two accounts and a day later have the Sportbet/Island customer service rep come in here and tell the world a different story.

                      Your response, please.

                        Bette Midler,

Please give me a call at your earliest convenience. I am unclear as to why a clerk would have told you that, but I can only assume it was a due to the fact that this is a newer policy. We are going through a number of changes to prepare for football season, and this is one of them. We haven't always allowed transfers, but the fact is, the clerk should have been aware. Just give me a ring and I will be more than happy to help you out. I do apologize for this inconvenience and assure you that it will get taken care of it.

Thanks, Jake. I understand that mishaps can sometimes occur in the communications loop within an outfit undergoing such rapid growth (as your organization is). The bottom line, however, is that you took care of the matter to the customer's satisfaction and that is the biggest plus of all. The improved customer service within your organization is already showing. Thanks again!

                            Thanks, Bette Midler.

I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to correct the situation. Thank you for your understanding and patience. If anybody else needs anything, don't hesitate to call me.
