I don't know how much Spiro will be paying you to do those O/U, but I guess he knows what is going on.

If you are a former client of Olympic and have great success on those O/U for the past 3 to 4 months, props to you, you are pretty smart.

Believe it or not, I think you are at least the 3rd or 4th guy in the last 2 years in Olympic to handle this, good luck.

BTW, since Olympic has "upgraded their BM" in soccer right now, I strongly demand a 20 to 30 cnets line in soccer totals.

At least for the big 4 leagues.

Hey, when you have the guts to come here and tell me you are the man and take a shot at Worldbet's 80 cents line, at least you need to show me that you don't need those 40 cents ripoff lines to protect youself.

      Right?

Gotta be clear on this one: I have NOT been hired as the soccer BM, that's just one area I'm happy to help Spiro in because I've done a lot of research in O/U numbers myself. I figure I'll spend about 2% of my time working on these. I think a 40-cent line is more than fair when you're the only book out there offering an O/U on practically every game (I know some of the newer league Olympic is offering don't have those yet but I'll try and get something on them soon)

And fine, sorry for the shot at WorldBet but I've been betting into these juiced Czech lines for 6 years now and thought I had seen the last of them. Plus there is a 5% betting tax in the Czech Republic on top of that. I just can't understand how they generate business with those.

Worldbet is Czech for all intents and purposes as far as I know PC.

Their lines aren't too good, that is true, however a useful soccer selection.

Worldbet had some 'off' lines sometimes at the start of NBA season for a couple of years, and I think some MLSesque people found their moneylines and whacked 'em, then they went back to triples there.

Sometimes some NHL differences that are worth it as well.

Pity about 3-way hockey lines, Czech hockey looks like it is of some interesting, but the market on that is so high it is a break even type deal, pretty much at best I think.

              PC,

Guess they generate business because most people don't know any better, and the only game in town, same reason all the UK/Europe places do with their soccer triples, presumably.

                PC,

If you have been doing research, stay away from the totals, please

Ray - has a very good point, if no-one else doing it, fair enough to give yourself a bit of safety to start with.

Also, in a monopoly position you do what you want, too, I guess. Let us hope it does take off though with places like Olympic pushing it.

However, it does seem a little inconsistent which games have them, or at what time, so hadn't been paying a lot of attention, if that gets changed it would be good. Not quite as random a selection as Interwetten or others produce, but still a little whacky.

Other places have had reasonable value totals on some of the 'big leagues' Ray, and stopped - a reason for that?

The Premier League seems pretty stable though, lots of places have those.

PC - World Bet is Czech... All the cheques I've got from there were from the "Agronomia" Bank or something like that based in Prague.

And I thought it split up in Czech Republic and Slovakia a few years back, why still call it Czechoslovakia?

Hey, since you have all this Eastern European knowledge base, maybe you can put up lines on Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia this season.

I really appreciate the fact that you guys have totals on CL round 2, but why not a total on ALL the games? Is 4.5 too big a number on Red Star Belgrade?

May all your bets be winners

                      PC...

May I ask just what you'll be doing at Olympic day-to-day? And what's the philosophy there on soccer?

BTW, you really gotta watch AYCE and AV2... lads are very, very harsh on punters who go to work for bookies.

                          PC,

"I come from Prague (where they have plenty of books with weak weak lines on North American Sports, just ask and I can start another thread with many stories if you want)."

                          So I ask.
Btw, I can tell you some stories about sports betting in Ukraine and how everybody there respects Tipsport, if you wish.

                            Alec & PC,
Feel free to chat about those Euro books you speak of. World Bet only lets you wager to $300 so it's no big deal. If they have to pay a 5% tax I can see why they have to deal a higher line. But you know I don't really see how that helps. It's just like a 20 cent line in baseball. Who is going to bet it unless it is competitive? So you might as well be competitive from the get go and be on the ball and change the line according to action.

What would the climate be like to operate a sportsbook in Europe? High license fees? High taxes? regulation? They don't seem to be as big a books as the islands, etc.
