  • Tszyu vs Chavez tonight

I was excited to see Olympic put a round proposition of 8.5 on the fight tonight. I personally thought the total should have been about 6. The best odds I've seen is at Canbet on Tszyu at -1100. Which seems like a steal since the real odds are probably closer to 100 to one that Chavez wins the fight. One only needs to look at how the ordinary Willy Wise rocked Chavez to know his chances of winning tonight. Anyway I onto the under at -120. I don't see this fight going past 6 rounds. Does anybody else have better odds then Olympic or Canbet.

Sad to see Chavez try to fight at that level. I laid the big price for just enough to make watching it fun. Wouldn't suggest laying that price in boxing to often though.

      Interesting

The heckling of our boy was shown on tv and the comment 'bookies in Vegas not taking bets on this'

or did they just stop as no-one wanted the no-hoper at all?

The line in Tijuana was/is -700 on Tszyu as of last week down from -3500 takeback opened +2500 now take back is EVEN.

They take big limits 10000 US.They tax 1.5% of your winnings.

They took halftime 7pt teasers until 1995.

Jc chavez is a wifebeater and Oscar Delahoya showed who was the real pride of Mexico when he broke Chavez nose in half.

Chavez may be a wife beater, but De La Hoya has more than once been accused of being a rapist. Forget those guys. I'm probably the real pride of Mexico. Any Gringo who has been mugged and robbed 5 times in Tijuana and who would still go down there on a regular basis to help out economically disadvantaged young women is a true hero. If the Mexicans had a clue, they'd erect a statue of me in TJ.

In a fight as one-sided as predicted, Kostya Tszyu defended his World Boxing Council super lightweight title Saturday with a sixth-round technical knockout of aging Julio Cesar Chavez. The fight had been seen as such a mismatch that Las Vegas bookmakers would not take bets on it. Each fighter earned $1.25 million. Tszyu improved to 25-1-1 with 21 knockouts. Chavez is 103-5-2, but has lost two of his last three fights. ''It looks like it's time for me to retire. It's time for me to leave,'' Chavez said in the ring after the fight.

Hey reno, you must know Frank who used to bet for someone in the Hilton(?) just over the border. He used to live in San Diego, I have not seen him in 4 years. You know who I am talking about? Real nice guy, good people.

Also, on your way to the Racetrack in TJ, if you are traveling so that the Hotel America is on the right hand side of the road, 100 yards before you make a right turn up the hill to turn into the track there is a taco stand that is the best I have ever had. The old lady sits there all day and smashes together the aguacate to spoon onto the tacos, great comida after a night of rape and pillage.

Railbird, Delahoya is an American, fought for us in the olympics but now brandishes the Mexican flag. Needs to belong to something I guess. Mexican nationals were nothing but overjoyed when he got beat recently.

Segundo, I can't say that I remember Frank. I worked the Pueblo Amigo Caliente in 1991. Then, after I got 86ed, I worked the Calientes at the Caliente Race Track and in the Fiesta Americana (Not Hotel American) Hotel for several months. Then, I moved to Rosarito Beach and worked that Caliente. Ask Frank if he knows Hank or Steve, buddies of mine who still work the Pueblo Amigo joint.

Now that Artie and Billy Walters no longer have runners at Caliente, I've heard that a lot of great numbers are available.

I never checked out the taco stand that you are talking about. But I'll never forget a woman--who refused to date me-- that I saw walking out of the Fiesta Americana. She was as beautiful as any woman I've ever seen.

Reno,I think he means hank not frank, hank the bank, the guy with the big cheese.

tincup, with their soccer team being in a slump, and now julio retiring, the Mexican people have no choice but to adapt Oscar as their national hero.
