  • NBA Logs

www.goldsheet.com has log files of NBA scores and pointspreads in their archives. They have the 1998-99 season and several years before that, but don't seem to have a log of the 1999-2000 season. Does anyone know if I just need to be patient and they'll put it up, or is there somewhere else I can look for a 99/00 log?

I can't answer your question about the Gold Sheet, but Computer Sports World has logs at their site for a fee. I think it costs a few hundred for a season's worth.

Has anyone noticed that their files now say "copyright Vegas Insider"? They used to read Computer Sports World, then later DBC (Data Broadcast Corporation).

A few hundred dollars for logs is a total rip-off. They sell in book form for $10 to $20. Computer Sports World grossly overcharges for everything. I'd like to see some real competition in the field.

        DEEPSOUTH,
THE GOLD SHEET HAS A COMPANION SHEET CALLED THE WEEKLY RECORD.

I AM QUITE SURE YOU CAN PURCHASE THE FINAL ISSUE OF LAST YEAR IF YOU CONTACT THEM.

WHEN I WAS HANDICAPPING, I FOUND THE POWER RATINGS AND BREAKDOWN OF TEAMS TO BE A MOST VALUABLE TOOL.

deepsouth, I seem to remember their logs went up closer to the start of the season, from memory - i.e. when there was more interest.

just click on the team--should do the trick.

Reno, I agree. This is another case of a monopoly and charges that go along with it. I'd like to see someone give them some serious competition.

I've often thought that Don Best was in a good position to compete. All they need to do is build the archives and hire a few people to keep it organized and make it available for easy download.

Thanks for the answers, people. IE--exactly what I was looking for. Just realized I probably should've posted to Bookies Hell instead, not that it matters too much.
