  • How many OUTS is enuff?

In today's gaming scene, with everyone wired into the latest technology and with most of the books having the same numbers changing at the same time, is there really any advantage in having multiple outs. I know that there are certain numbers that are much better than others(2.5/3/3.5) but how often can you find variances at books on the key numbers. Anyone have a thought on this?

good question...i'm going to use four offshores this year

the other important question is the tendancy for the book to be on/off dogs and who their lines generally lean to (ie. no need to have both Posttime and WWTS)

also, how early in the week do the lines go up

the more the better, in general, if they have what you want and are reputable

mr green - Yes, having several outs help a lot simply because of the numbers you're getting. 1/2 to 1 point difference, "either way" is very crucial on a close game. Only drawback is payouts, it costs a lot more unless you opted the regular free mail which takes forever.

You would be surprised sometimes with the variance of points you get around but you should really have to shop around. Staying at Don Best the whole day is not my style aside from being tiry and boring I have some family to attend

My suggestion is go around the world. Open one in Europe, Australia, Costa Rica, Antigua, Curacao and of course in Jamaica. Good luck!!!

Mr. Green, whereas most yogis spend their time in meditation contemplating their navels, or, worse, their genitalia, I instead prefer to devote my meditation time to considering sportsbetting questions-- like the one you raised--from every conceivable angle, until a definitive answer emerges. Moreover, why should I waste my time meditating on paradoxical, or even double-bind, Zen koans, when I can attain Satori (a flash of Enlightenment) by simply focusing my attention on sportsbetting dilemmas that have, from time immemorial, plagued players and bookies alike?

Anyway, getting back to your question, my answer is this: The proof of the pudding is in the eating. In other words, if a non-Screen book has clone-like betting lines that virtually always mirror the lines on the Don Best Screens--Premium Feed or Island Express--then that book, apart from bonuses it may offer, is a redundant, useless out that should be eliminated from your stable of sportsbooks. And the same logic should also be applied to Don Best books that tend to persistently besmirch the Screen with "tweeners." However, to my way of thinking, it is axiomatic that there is virtually no limit to the number of sportsbooks that one should play into--as long as those books offer, at least occasionally, numbers that are unavailable elsewhere. And if you need more substantial evidence to back that statement, consider the fact that I currently play into over 30 stores and that I am still planning further additions to my stable.

            Excellent responses, thanks.
Udog, did you see alot of 1/2 point variations last year on the crucial numbers(3,7)? I didn't see alot, however most of my play was at Carib and I really didn't shop much because I didn't have the money to spread around.

Reno, as always you have a great skill of making one laugh and feel stupid at the same time Anyway, I cannot fathom the organization it would take to play into 30 book at a time. Maybe the question I should ask you is how do you do it? I realize that your extremely intelligent, but could you shed some light on how you organize yourself and maybe what a typical working day for ou would be like?

Certainly there can never be enough outs for those who like to whack games for enormous numbers (say 50+ Dimes per event). If one were to hit a total in a game (for 20+ dimes or more for instance), many outs would be a necessity.

mr green - superbowl is the best example if we're going to talk about last year. Since I liked the Titans so much, I grabbed the number 8' from the first it opened, "taking the risk" that the number will go down, which it did. I don't buy points unless it is really necessary. You will see a number of shops that varies from 6'-7' before the game started. To answer your question, had I seen a lot variations on (3,7)? My answer is not that much unless it was a national televised game. Nevertheless, if you real like a game and landed on 3 or 7, and after shopping around you didn't see much of a difference, then just go back to basics, "buy points". Good luck!!!

-- Of course this bit only applies to 2 or 3 American sports and their monotonous sameness, in general, so having more and more as reno goes on to say later, will give you more and more possibilities for advantages in a growing number of areas.

                    Mr. Green,

Although I play with 30-some outs, 16 of them are on the Don Best Premium feed and 5 others are virtually useless clone joints that I won't go back into after this baseball season.

After further thought, I wish to recant my statement that it is not possible to have too many outs. I now believe that 80 outs is the limit that one individual can successfully exploit.

In fact, I've decided to write a script for a new TV series called "80 is Enough." The series will be about a a sportsbettor who goes through the hell of managing 80 sportsbetting accounts. Between bank wires, Fed-Ex's, stiffs, and IRS audits, the series will be chock-full of excitement. And to spice-up the series even more, we'll have the protagonist betting J.R. Miller's plays.
Hey, maybe I can even get J.R. to help me write the script.

Regarding my schedule, I start early and end late. I have a Protestant work ethic and Jewish smarts, which compensate for my being old and slow and a mere pseudo-intellectual wannabe. I start each day with a pint of Haagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, which provides all of the essential nutrients that my body needs, particularly caffeine, sugar, and fat.
The biggest enemy that I combat in a typical work-day is boredom. When there is little line movement, I find myself repeatedly perusing Bettorsworld or exploring Asian porn sites. And if that doesn't get me excited, I give Boomer a call to receive his pre-recorded inspirational message of the day.

During football I think one can manage more because early on things don't move as fast. I prefer more to worry more about my allocation per book or $'s allocated. It doesn't pay to have 10 dimes in a place you only use a couple times a week.

Nothing is more frustrating to find a bet you want to make and you only have a piddly amount on deposit.

I am guilty of spending too much time at my favorite outs and not enough with some.

Another system you may care to think about...

If you have a group of well-trusted 'buddies', each with access to four or five different outs, you suddenly have a lot more shopping power.

Whether it's one buddy or seven, one out each or five, it still improves your odds. But make sure these are genuine guys, not any ol' Schmo....
