In the early days of the Paradise Casino (Antigua) August 1995, there were two back to back hurricanes that hit Antigua. The destruction was incredible. The wind was blowing so hard that a full size ocean liner was blown onto land a full 1/2 mile inland. Many people died. I applaud Eddie and PL for worrying about health and safety rather than Bette Midlers Visa Card. As far as WWTS & WSEX processing things as usual maybe their circimstances are different. Maybe they are further inland-maybe they just want to take a chance. Who knows. There are many things in life more important than betting games.

Currently (4pmEDT) TSDebby is 156 miles East of Guadeloupe - TS winds stretch out 150 miles -- Antigua should be starting to feel the wind gusts of 35mph...

Puhleasse!! What in the world should I be ashamed of? You, the man who has no shame whatsoever in the way you sucker poor squares away from their earnings would be lecturing me about a simple request for a payout.
First of all, I can put two and two together for myself. I was NOT the one who called his staff into work today, put up lines, and takes action in the face of the storm. It would have been entirely appropriate had Eddie chose not to open his store today, and I think everyone would have understood. But the fact that PL IS open today, with a staff available to answer phones and take action, I saw no reason why the service I requested shouldn't be available. Eddie agreed, and the instructions he gave his staff were to explain that banks were closing early and FedEx planes would not be landing, therefore, these types of payouts would not be processed today. But to process a credit card does not exactly require planes and bank wires. For everyone's sake, including mine, it would have probably been better had I called PL and got a recording this morning instead of a live operator, then I would have known to blow any expectations for service today. And really, this was NOT an urgent request that could not have waited until Thursday or Friday, and maybe I should have thought twice before posting the matter. My apologies to anyone who thinks my attention to this matter was inappropriate (but not to you, JD).

Take it easy on Bette, understanding the seriousness of Hurricane season in Antigua is info not everyone is privy to. I think Bette had a fair question that was answered. Now its understood. By the way I think Gary caught film of the hurricane you mentioned. Crazy son of a beeatch

I saw two films on those hurricanes-both of them displaying dead people. I also remember a guy named Dean still taking action at PC during the storms. He almost got killed. Those hurricanes were the beginning of the end for the PC. I guess I should take it easy on Bette Midler. After all, some people have a needle so far up their arm if an atom bomb went off in their front yard they'd still take the Japs and the over.

Trust me, severity of this storm has NOT been lost on me, as clearly, the purpose of my post has been lost on you.

Had I called PL this morning and gotten a recording stating the facts at hand, then end of story. I wait until the storm blows over and call back later this week, hoping that everyone gets through it okay. Anyone who knows me (as obviously you do not) would not have accused me of the things you have. Truthfully, I was quite unaware of the situation at hand when I called this morning. Everything appeared normal. Had I known what was looming I may not have even called. Fault me for not watching the weather channel, JD, but please lighten up on the rhetoric. After all the crap you took when you first showed up here, you were actually beginning to earn my respect, but that is fading quickly with the way you've chosen to express yourself here.

JD-I ALWAYS IGNORED WHAT PEOPLE SAID ABOUT YOU AND ACTUALLY STUCK UP FOR YOU RECENTLY BECAUSE I FELT YOU WERE HELPFUL TO THE OFFSHORE INDUSTRY. But to say the above really surprises me 1.) I hope you don't ever open a book because if someone offends you I guess you plan to stiff him. 2.) What does it matter what size player he is?

I know some of the things I say are wrong(out of frustration or whatever) on these forums sometimes and I hope you can take constuctive criticism.

Maybe I was a little harsh, but many of my customers play at PL and I have never had one complaint. Sometimes betting games is not the most important thing. Bette Midler I apologize. My reaction was based on what I saw in late 1995. It was really horrible and it put gambling in a different perspective for me. The locals that work in Antigua make really low wages. Most of them will never recover from what happened then much less now. Sorry if I made anybody mad.

Thanks for coming back here and clearing things up. I understand how an experience like what you witnessed in '95 can change your perspective, and I am very relieved to see that history did not repeat itself this time around.

As our views of the world are shaped from our experiences, perhaps my reaction here was also a bit of that. As you recall from the Unified Gaming fiasco earlier this summer, I've become used to just about every slow pay excuse on the planet. After awhile, cynicism sets in and you almost come to expect such things, and had this not been my first redemption request from PL, I'm sure this matter would have never come to light. To
insinuate that PL is anything other than a top flight operation would be unfair and undeserved.

Every experience I've had with Premiere to this point has been a good one. Over the course of the past six months, I've been treated well by their staff, and with the exeption of an occassional hiccup on the web site, I've been able to get down without a hitch. Eddie took the time yesterday to explain the situation both to me and to this forum, which we all appreciate. I plan to be playing with them for a good long while.

Hopefully, this storm has passed over both Antigua and in BettorsWorld, and we can all get back to life as normal, whatever that is.
