For those experiencing slowness and using Netscape, give it a go with IE and see if there's any significant difference... I think the software they are using is a microsoft shop type and it catters to their own browser...
Just a thought...

I am posting here from IE, it works a little better. I say this because it has spontaneously quit out of this browser as well.
I like the new colors.
Any chance of going back to a frames type set up. This would allow people like me to open the forum in it's own frame and bookmark it seperately. I promise I will still check the other areas. I have always done it like this up until now. :-)
I don't know what it is exactly but I think you are using more java then before. There is something with java that doesn't get along with Apples. Before everyone starts yelling that Apple is less than 10% of the market consider two things. One, it's share is increasing and two it's share of the home market os probably closer to 35% (guessing) especially with the iMacs. I would also be curious to hear how the webTV folks are doing with the new set up.
Posted on the other side. Just to Paraphrase, the new format is almost Totally INCOMPATIBLE with WEBTV, both in the extreme slowness and the unreadability of every other post in orange/yellow. Probably too much stuff loading each time one moves around as far as the speed. Brian, I believe you have access to WEBTV, try it and you'll see what I mean.
EXCELLENT and FAST reading in the BLACK PRINT on WHITE background, and the alternating dark mustard background color would be a perfect compliment IF changed to a LIGHT GREY.
The LONG empty space available all the way down the left column could be used to WIDEN the user postings, thereby eliminating the need to use the page bottom scroll bar to see the right side of page when in window rather than full screen mode.
Other than that the format is darn near perfect :-) including the longer loading time affording kitchen and washroom trips simultaneously.

While it may or may not be slightly slower loading the threads, I haven't really noticed the difference.
The basic design of the site itself is a 1000% improvement over the old format which I, frankly, found virtually indecipherable and a pain in the ass to navigate. This is much more readable.
I think the new format is great.....if anything, it loads quicker than before. for those of you who are using Web TV, come on now. It's the year 2000. if you can afford to wager a couple of Frankie's a game, you surely can afford a PC. For those that are stuck with Web Tv, you cant't expect BW to alter their site just to accomodate a small perecntage of users. But, I do sympathise.
Well,I've been around since Bettorsworld was the old Bookies Hell and I've seen all the changes in the last 5 years and I like this design the best!! Just my 2 cents
