  • FEE for Money Transfers???

I called WSEX this morning in order to get some funds transferred over to Premiere League. I've done this approx. 10 times in the last year or so. Well, this morning, I was notified that there would be a $30 charge for all transfers due to the "excess paperwork". When I told the clerk that I've never paid a fee for a charge before, she replied that it was a new policy and ALL books are doing it.....

Is this indeed correct? Anybody else have to PAY for a friggin money transfer, or even heard of such a thing? Or did I just get the runaround from WSEX. I hope it's not the latter, as I have never had one iota of a problem with them, but If I indeed discover that this charge was BS, I'm outta there.......check please!.

sos is charging $30 as well. The last time I used carib, there was not a charge. I haven't transferred from Pleague in months, but it was free the last time i did.

I believe WWTS started this idea.

Actually I don't mind since the receiving books has always offered to credit me for the $30 transfer fee.

I was told by one of the books that they started charging because too many people abused the free transfer service. Somebody would see a line they liked but didn't have enough cash...so they'd call another book and have the funds transferred. Some players did this every other day. Now we all have to pay...thanks to those who abused the service.

then all they have to do is allow one transfer per month which, i think, is reasonable

transfers were always free, for me, between premiere and posttime but i'm guessing that is the case no longer

Dunes Sports still isn't charging fees for transfers, and MAY pick up fee if one is charged to transfer funds to them. Give them a try.

Shifty, I think you're right. Some have abused these free, quick transfers among Antigua books. But I think the sportsbooks have made the wrong choice in how to deal with it. A simple limit on the number of free transfers would be an easy solution. As it is, the charge basically counters what was once a very good reason to do business with Antigua books.

The crazy thing is now the players are being charged $30 to transfer their money with one phone call from the books; whereas previously there was (in many cases) the option to have a FedEx check sent to them free of charge.

It is a shame that WSEX is now following in the footsteps of WWTS. And because they are W.U. green-formers, it is a mistake. In the past, I went out of my way to transfer them money to save them W.U. fees. Obviously, customers should not be allowed to abuse books with constant transfers. However, one free transfer per week is not unreasonable.
What is incomprehensible to me regarding WWTS is that they even charge $30 to simply transfer money from one WWTS account to another--an internal transaction that can be done in a matter of seconds.

One thing you guys got to remember is anyone who transfer funds from 1 book to another is to them a boarder line Wiseguy.

These books just want players that play at 1 book and you really can't blame them. If you are transfering funds from 1 book to another you will get classified as a Wiseguy and most of these books really don't want to cater to those types.

"Make them pay for the transfer, They need us more than we need them!" I'm sure this has been said in many books managers offices lately.

One transfer a week is reasonable though. These books all keep figures with each other and it doesn't cost them 1 penny extra to do these transfers! Except for the phone calls.

The books that are charging the fees really don't want YOUR action. Plain and simple..... If they did they wouldn't charge you for something that doesn't cost them anything.

With all due respect DoggieStyle, that's a bunch of hogwash. Not on your part, but the book. First of all, all they have to do is bring up my account history and whether or not I'm a wiseguy is confirmed. Secondly, if I was a wiseguy, what's 30 bones?

With this post from WIT sports, I can see it now. Books will be promoting the fact that they DO NOT charge for transfers in order to reel in customers. Hell, it's already started, hasn't it?

In all honesty, 30 bucks is really no big deal. It's just the principal of the whole thing. So much for the offshores "stickin' together." And if indeed it is true that WWTS started this whole thing and charges for INTERNAL transfers.......SHAME!

Man, I'll tell ya......If it's not one thing, it's another. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I subscribe to the following theories. 1) If I can SEND funds to an offshore in a matter of minutes, is a 24 hour turn around to much to ask for? 2) If a guy (perhaps wise, perhaps not) transfers funds on a daily basis, that's one thing, but is once a month or so too much to ask? 3) I've always been one to put customer service at the bottom of my list of requirements. Hell, if the guy on the phone is an ass, i can deal with it. I deal with 100's of people like that everyday. But, it's reached the point where I find myself stopping and saying to myself "Wait a minute. I'm a CUSTOMER. YOU, my friend, are a service." This isn't a hierarchial power ploy, it's a simple fact. I run a service. If I value a customer enough, I'll get down on the ground and lick his (or preferrably HER) boots.

In the past 2 weeks or so, I've received approximately 4,231 pieces of "book-related" mail, 17 phones calls, and about 940 e-mails promising me the world if i just SIGN UP. With this new development and the other experiece which i addressed a couple weeks ago, I'm up in arms. Might as well pull my pants down, bend over, and allow them to "service" the account.

Sorry for the rant.....very bitter....I'll recover.

                          Junior44,

WIT Sports does not need to provide this player transfer service to reel in customers! We do player transfers for free because we feel its an added service to our clients as well as other sportsbooks.

                          Winbig,

As for doing transfers with those books, if they were to give us a call, I'm sure we could work something out.
