As I said, I called Millenium at 2am
Sunday morning, when I couldn't get
them on line. They said all straight
bets were -105 instead of -110 for
today only. I made 6 straight wagers.
In the morning before game time and at 1/2 time I couldn't get on, but after the 2nd
games I got on and bet the Monday Night
game at -105 also. So it was for phone
and internet wagers( they stated no parleys
    or teasers).
Since the overhead is less on internet
wagers, I don't understand why they just
don't lower the juice on off-peak times.
This would free up some band width for
the peak times( 1 hr before kickoff).I'm
sure alot of business was lost today when
    people couldn't get on.
The internet is convient, but I've been
having alot of problems ( system updates,
    server crashes, etc.).I'll give millenium
another month and if things don't get
better, I'll go back to a straight
phone service like Gibralter, until the
    bugs are worked out.

To be fair I did place 2 wagers with the Dunes today with no problems(This place is well on it's way to the top of my list)

      But Abc,Cris,,mill,sbg,and Nasa
      were all nightmares.

Johnny- "Why does anyone deserve a signup bonus anyway? Think about that." Why does Las Vegas give away up to 15% back to players in comps and rooms? Why does Atlantic City give the seniors $20 in quaters when they get off the bus.?

        Krackman,
There is a big difference between betting sports in Vegas and table games. When you bet sports there you might get a room. How much does that cost them? ($40-$80) They never add 10%-20% to your post money. They spend little marketing & pay basically no 800 phone bill. This whole thing is turning into a joke.

Very good topic azbob. Speed and accessibility became the determining factor as to what books I would use for this football season. It was very frustrating last year knowing that there was a good chance that I would not be able to get a last minute bet in or get a half time bet in. I know I could use the phone but I have always prefer to do it on line. As for my experience this weekend Olympic (as it always is) was no problem and Dunes was good.

            Johnny:
I tend to disagree, I think the books are
making alot of money, even with the bonuses.
If they weren't, why are new ones popping
            up everyday?
Even though there is alot of talk about
"wise guys" killing the books, for each
"wise guy" that is, there are probably
            hundreds that think they are.
Sports betting is bascally an untapped
multi-billion dollar industry that was for
            years left to the "underworld".
A sportsbook won't reap the profits that a
room full of slots will, but will reap alot
just the same. I don't hear the Vegas books
claiming to lose money with the books, just
that the profit margin is higher with slots
and table games where the house edge is more
            fixed.
I know there are some players that can make
a living with sports or horse betting. But,
I think most are like me, winning a little,
losing a little, not losing enough to quit
gambling, but not winning enough to quit
            working.
