  • Two lines on every game?

I've been checking around for an extra bookmaker with something really different, I found some interesting lines on Island Express from a company located in Costa Rica called Option Sports. They offer a Split Line in all the Football games; let's take this one for example: 191) K.C. 8½T38
    192) TEN 8
    **That's K.C. +8½ or Tennessee -8 and total 38. Bizzarre but cool.

Baseball is a different deal, no 10cent line, no 15 or 20 cent line; a 6-7 or so cent line.

    Example: 909) Cubs 52T14½
    910) Rockies -157

***That's Cubs +152; Total 14½ and you know the rest.

It's the first time I see this, but they got me because sometimes you want to be in a better position with the dog or the fav.

See the thread entitled "Fav -7 or the dog +7' at same book", about a week old now. We'll see how long this deal (or the sportsbook) lasts.

Consider the fact that Las Vegas sportsbook directors have been fired for losing millions of dollars to bettors, it's not if some of these off-shore books will go under but when. And these Vegas books gave out no bonuses, no referral bonuses, and no two-line options.

Not only do they get fired, sometimes, they go out of business. The name escapes me right now, but there was a vegas book that left alot of players holding winning tickets a couple of years ago. Of course, the players will get paid, in Vegas, eventually, unlike offshore, if this happens.

There have been more negative stories involving reduced vig and extra points, than positive ones.

Books dealing -105 or dealing the split line -5' +6'.......some even came in here prior to their "launch" to hype their promotions, and argue that it could be successfully done, only to fall flat.

I see no problem with specials like Carib on Tuesdays, and other similar offers, but some seem to get carried away in a desparate attempt to gain new customers.

            Jeff,
Was it Little Caser's you were thinking about? How new is Option? Do they have a big brother or anybody backing them up?

Gary Austin's Race and Sportsbook was "robbed" and players were subsequently stiffed. I'm still waiting to get paid.

Was Austin's book a shop all by itself ?(no casino) What year was this ? Does the Casino Control Commision have any say in the matter?

I actually heard a little about this but always wanted to ask those questions. Thanks!

Gary Austins deal was before there were safeguards in place for players in Vegas.

The place I'm referring to, went bust just two years ago. They were located on the outskirts of Vegas. These days, a player is guaranteed to get paid by a vegas book, in this situation, though it may take some time.

krackman/Austin's joint was free standing at mid strip. 'Robbery' took place around '90. The Comm. position was if new book reopened there, all tickets would be paid. No takers.

Jeff/The book you were referring to was The Sport of Kings. Now a night spot.

                      Ronbets,

That's actually not the one. There was another one. I can't remember the name. Just outside Vegas I think........It was roughly 2 years ago.....anyone?
