  • What's going on with GOTO?

It seems like Goto are having some serious problems with their online accounts. Has anyone else been having these problems?

  • #2
Their website has been very slow all week and intermittently slow for a few weeks now. Forget even trying them on football weeekends.

You mentioned problems with "accounts". Are they also have problems with account balances or were you simply referring to their accessibility?

GoTo, like Island and Sportbet, should be looking for new software. The Unified Gaming software sucks, particularly on football weekends. The story this year is the same as the story last year. And if they don't get new software, it will probably be the same next year.

Yo cannot even log in to GOTO since last yesterday. I called and they said they are working on it. I hope they fix it as I really love this book.

Spartan… “It seems like Goto are having some serious problems with their online accounts.”

We have been upgrading our system. This week we installed new phones and increased our bandwidth, so you should see a significant upgrade.

Bette Midler… “You mentioned problems with "accounts". Are they also have problems with account balances or were you simply referring to their accessibility?”

There is no problem with the balance of any account.

Reno… “The Unified Gaming software sucks, particularly on football weekends.”

In our software provider’s defense, there have been several improvements and enhancements over the last year with many more to come. Also, I believe many of the problems will be resolved with our system and bandwidth upgrades.

Bruce1972…”Yo cannot even log in to GOTO since last yesterday. I called and they said they are working on it. I hope they fix it as I really love this book.”

Glad to hear you like our sportsbook, and hopefully the improvements will further enhance your opinion.

Let us know if you have any additional comments or suggestions.

GoTo is a very good, very solid sportsbook with a couple of real good honorable guys running it.

Reno attributed the slowness he experienced to the Unified Software, however I've utilized that same software at many less used sportsbooks in the past with never a problem.

I think a more likely cuprit is server size and bandwidth. We see the same thing every year with many many books. I think it speaks more to the phenomenal growth these books are experiencing as many more gamblers using offshore outs are coming into the mainstream.

Look at it from a common sense point of view. I'm GoTo Sportsbook, Football is my most profitable season by far, wouldn't I want to book as much action as possible. You could make in a week what five servers would cost.

Bandwidth is another issue. From what I understand, there is only so much in Costa Rica and is very much in demand.

Don't be adverse to getting on the telephones if you can't get through and speak to GoTo's operators to put in your bets. For about a one year period I called in all my bets. Their operators at that time were trained well and spoke English well.

GoTo is solid as a rock, well-intentioned and there is absolutely no hanky-panky going on there account-wise. I know they'll solve their bandwidth and/or server problems shortly. Until then, call in your wagers or place your bets on off-peak hours.

Believe me, many more books were impossible to get into a year ago than they are now.

You could look at it another way, "At least they've got alot of business and are probably financially healthy."

Goto is part of or has been bought by moneyplays correct?(maybe vice versa WHATEVER!)

They obviously sweat the money and call your house if they make mistakes (Ala Bowman's) when I say mistakes I am talking about a 10-20 cent difference in baseball. I read someone bet NYM+105 and then the line was lowered to +104 he re-bet it and then they after taking the wager they called him home to say he had no bet. The line was off by 10 cents at the most and actually Vegas had a +110 on it THIS PLACE WAS VERY WRONG DOING THIS AND I WILL MAKE SURE ALL THE BOARDS GET WIND OF IT.....

This is moneyplays that I am talking about but if they do it I am sure Goto can't wait to have too much money on a side and calls your home GEE!!! THAT'S WHAT I WANT EVERYONE IN MY HOUSE TO KNOW MY BUSINESS....

                krackman,

I don't know for sure if GoTo owns Money Plays or not, but I've had big balances and dealt with both for over a year.

Something some of these books are guilty of is letting "supervisors" make bad decisions such as the one you described.

I've dealt with Jack at Money Plays and Pablo and Scott over at GoTo with never a problem that wasn't resolved by them quickly. I bet if you talk to the right people you'll get fair treatment.

Anyone who's been around knows I've had my issues with some Unified books, but these two were two of the good ones. Try talking to the real people in charge before you go bad-mouthing them. Maybe they'll make it right.

You could always bad mouth them afterwards if you think they're being unfair, right? My guess is they're unaware of what's happened to you. Just my two cents here.

Boomer, are you saying that the managers don't know that the supervisors are calling people at home to cancel wagers? This is a really bad policy, and deserves a bad rap.

ShiftySheik, GoTo is an OK out for the smaller or recreational player. And they sometimes do have different numbers on baseball games. However, if you are a wiseguy, they will limit your action. Months ago, they cut me down to a dime limit over the Internet and said I had to call if I wanted more. However, I gave quickly gave up calling because most of the time I called I still only get a dime over the phone.

FIRST OFF I JUST READ ABOUT THIS ON THE RX'S POSTING FORUM IT'S NOT ME. BUT I WILL COPY AND POST SOME TIDBITS HERE .All this I would not even be doing because the person who started the thread I never heard of and only had 7 posts to his credit. But the post by Money plays took the cake and there response made me start this whole thing. THANK GOD I NEVER PLAYED WITH THIS SWEAT THE MONEY JOINT.

The following is taken from posts from Moneyplays on the RX....

Money Plays had a mistake on its line earlier today; the Mets were a favorite between -115 and -118, and the customer received Mets +105 which is a 20 cent mistake. The customer was notified about the obvious bad line, and told the wager was cancelled (which is standard policy).the bettor was contacted via email, and called several hours prior to the game (and prior to the line moving). The offer was extended to accept the wager at the accurate line, but was not accepted.

The customer threatened to post on sites (ie, the************) if we would not honor the bad line. Obviously, we believed we were correct, and did not give in to the threats nor did we honor the wager.

Anytime we receive the "threat" to post if we don't something, we will not give in to the threat, but do what we believe is right.

Here was my response post to them....

Let me tell you something and I post on 7 different boards and I will be getting the word out that YOU GUYS ARE A F.....G JOKE!!! You go and call the guy home over a 20 cent mistake........I talked to a few different LINESMAKERS today about this and they both said the same thing they would "Eat it and go on"
                          YOU ALSO SAID..
"Anytime we receive the "threat" to post if we don't something, we will not give in to the threat, but do what we believe is right."

I take it losing dime players over YOUR little 20 cent mistake is "what you believe is right"

After the bet was canceled He was offered the bet at "the current line" YEA SURE WHY WOULDN'T HE WANT TO BE SCALPED BY YOU GUYS BECAUSE YOU F....D UP? YOU MUST THINK THE POSTERS ARE IDIOTS OVER HERE AT THE ************?

These guys also are involved with GOTO your kidding !!! Man I cant stand stuff like this it infuriates me ....... Over 20 cents LMAO GREAT MARKETING TEAM YOU GUYS HAVE THERE!!!

krackman... You were mis-informed regarding the Money Plays situation. Money Plays had a reversed line on a game. The game was queried and emails (not phones calls) were sent to the customers who received the reversed line several hours prior to game time. The customer you refer to called us, and asked about the situation; we did not call him. He later apologized, and said it was wrong for him to make the post because he was always taken care of well at Money Plays.

You also mentioned "this sweat the money joint"..... I am sure there are several posters here that will confirm they have never had to sweat their funds with GoTo or Money Plays (following the acquisition).

If you have an axe to grind with GoTo, you can contact us directly.

Boomer... We appreciate the positive feedback.

Did you or did you not cancel this bet because of a 20 cent mistake? YES

If I(and others) were mis-informed it was from your guy Sam at MP. He is the one that posted and said "the customer was called prior to the game"

Me personally no I have no axe to grind with GoTo I don't even have an account there(thankfully) and I stick to what I said and will believe what I hear CANCELLING BETS BECAUSE OF A 20 CENT MISTAKE IS A SWEAT JOINT IN MY MIND AND OTHERS TRUST ME!!!!! Also FYI Sweat the money does not mean you don't pay or are not financially sound. It just means that on an idividual game by game basis a book sweats the small stuff. I personally have not heard anything about you guys not paying as far as I know you pay and that is not the issue.

Ya see! This is my point exactly from a PR point you think you would of said lets honor this SMALL mistake and eat a few dollars so this guy does not go on the posting boards and give us a bad writeup.

And if you would of came on here and said something like we messed up and should of honored the bet I would be here saying yes bad call but we learn from our mistakes. But some places can't admit to mistakes so we just all go on..............
