Unless I'm doing something wrong, the posts on NETeller have disappeared.

Anyway, I promised to post my experience using the card. I processed my first transfers this week, to and from the card. Overall, I'm looking forward to its convenience and hope that it becomes more widespread. Kudos to the books that are using it, including Dunes, Island, and Sportbet.

The "smartcard" has a chip embedded into it for security and identification. It comes with a card reader, which plugs into a serial port of your PC. You can read more details at www.NETeller.com (one "T", not two - the other is another misleadingly similar site and product).

You can request transfers to or from a sportsbook directly from your computer. This puts the transfer into a "pending" status. What I didn't know is that you actually have to call the sportsbook and ask them to OK to transfer, which shows up on a screen at their office as well. Not knowing this, I had a requested transfer sit in pending status for three days.

But once you know what to do, the process is very quick (transfers to and from the card). Getting money from your bank account or another source to the card takes a few days. And getting money from the card to your bank account takes a few days. So unfortunately this is really not a quicker way to make a withdrawal. But it is a quicker way to make a transfer.

I'll share more as I learn.
