I’m pleased with the thoughtfulness and the quality of the responses on this thread. I’ve been thinking a lot about these matters since I started the thread and read some of the ensuing discussion. I’m gradually coming to some tentative conclusions, but I don’t have time to articulate and post them right now. Probably tomorrow or soon thereafter. In the meantime, I’ll look forward to reading more of your opinions.

Ronbets, thanks for asking. I passed on the opportunity to join up with that sportsbook. I was strongly leaning that way all along; I just wanted to share the story with the Bettorsworld folks and see what they might make of it. My friend still socializes with the guy, so I’m sure I could get in with him any time I want if I decide to pursue it. For now, I only have accounts at Bettorsworld-approved sportsbooks. In all likelihood, that’s how things will remain for the foreseeable future.

Chilly, I like your reasoning. It is no more unethical for the player to take advantage of specials, than it is for sportsbooks to offer more than they can afford.

I'd imagine that following smart money as Boris suggests would be in general, part of the Dark Side training handbook? In any country, that is.
