  • Any Info on Grand Central Sports?

I am thinking of joining GCSPORTS. I checked the archives and found one negative post. That post was almost a year ago so I would like to hear from anybody else who has beaten them out of their money. I hear they treat the customers who lose very nice, so I am basically asking how do they treat the people who consistently win?

Mojo, I think that is a good question to ask about any new book you're considering. Of course (almost) any book will treat a losing player like royalty. A bigger test is how they treat someone who is at least temporarily winning.

I only have a short term experience there, about three months. I have given them plays very sparingly, and only when they have the best number. For now, I am ahead about 50% on my initial deposit.

So far, everything is very good. They recently processed a payout in the form of a transfer to another sportsbook at my request. It was processed the next day, cheerfully. When I asked for the payout, I was asked if I was being treated well, and if everything was going OK. It's hard to beat that.

I have been with them for for several months. I have collected 4 payouts for over 20 dimes total. After each payout which is always prompt, professional, and done correctly, I get a sincere wish for continued sucess. What more could a player want! They don't chase winners like some other mickey mouse outfits out there. They handle payouts and transfers first class. Payouts are very prompt and handled with ease. Tired of poor communication over the phone, not with these guys, they know whats going on. HIGHLY recommend them. First rate book!

GCS has gone on record at m ad ja cks for kicking a player out for winning. The player got paid, but still got the boot.

Since GrandCentral is an active advertiser here, I hope they come here and explain. Kicking a player out for winning doesn't sound like a real book.

            Sportshobby,

We have let one player go since our inception. I will not go into the details here or any other public forum because we pride ourselves on the confidentiality of our players accounts. We do not chase players as Underdog has already attested to.

To make money in this business you must write tickets and that's what we do best. All books have winners and losers we just try and grind out our 5% hold. We hire the best personel, have a tremendous customer service department and pay promptly. We do our best to accomodate every player's wishes and requests. If you are happy, please continue to allow us to provide the kind of service you have experienced in the past.

Peter, thanks. I'm sure you have had more than one winner so far, so there has to be more to that story than just a player winning.

              Keep up the good work.

GCS is a class act. They are so good in fact that a very good friend of mine hired them to do his customer service for betwindows2000.com. Peter Jacoby runs a good shop. They pay all bills promptly and their internet software is good too. They also advertise everywhere.

Well I just read all the threads over at Mad Jacks and while it is clear that they did ask this particular player to leave .

The player says that he was satisfied with the desicion and both he and his wife had nothing but positive comments about GC.

Nowhere was it stated that Grand Central had asked this player to leave for winning too much....

So lets not jump to conclusions there may be more to the story

Since Nickles is one of the main persons with a financial interest in GCS, I wonder how many others are shilling for them right now?

I also read somewhere these guys have been convicted of telemarketing fraud?
Maybe Johnny DeMarco or GCS can shed a little light on this? IMO, if true, one would expect telephone skills in their customer service dept., which would eliminate any trust I would have in their customer service because everything is probably "just what you want to hear".

Anyways, being that Nickles is GCS, it just seems pretty cheesy, completely unprofessional and very E*S*B*esque/SHRINKesque shilling for themselves and making a comment on a situation they publicly said they won't address publicly.

GCS have done everything possible to make my experience with them enjoyable. I've requested two five figure withdrawals and they were in my bank accout within 48 hours. Their staff is courteous and professional, their web site is easy and reliable, and they allow me to do either phone or internet with the same pin #. They're a keeper!!! stymister....

                          FireHolder,
Why does there always have to be an idiot in the crowd? GCS is a good place to play. So what if they had a run in with one customer. Every big business in the world has atleast one unhappy customer. If you remember, it was GCS who helped break the story on the Bank of Nevis and it was GCS who purchased two failing offshore stores (that were about to stiff their customers) and made them part of GCS. They won't admit that but it is true. I challenge anyone out there to call their marketing department @ 1 800 376 5242. Listen to what they have to say and then you decide. It is amazing to me how people come here using an alias and make stupid accusations!

Last week (Monday) I requested a 15k withdrawl on my Grand Central account. I got the check DHL on Weds. at lunchtime. I took it to the bank to cash it. My bank is affilated with the corresponding bank that Grand Central uses. Obviously with such a large check, everyone at the bank had to look at it and sign it. The lady at the bank who verified the funds said that they had a very large account. I asked "How large?" All she would tell me is 8 figures. So here is the way I see it. They have quite a bit of money. They run ads for business all over the place and nobody has ever said they were cheated out of a penny. They sound ok to me. Plus I like the software they use.

Thank you for the responses. I am glad Peter from GCS has responded to the thread. I hope Peter can respond to the one negative post that is in the BW archive. Here is the gist of Brett's post Dec.1999; He states he won a "huge amount of money" at GCS, he experienced slow pay and runarounds, his account was "frozen for review", his account was closed and it took 5 weeks to get his money. I can only assume this person was booted for winning too much money. Thank you in advance for responding to this post.
