  • NETeller - no card necessary

I have to admit it, I'm starting to like this NETeller card. Except now it's not a card, or at least it's not necessary.

As of now users can log into NETeller's secure website, look at transactions and status, and make transactions using any standard web browser. No card or card reader is required.

I know sportsbooks dislike credit cards because of the fees and chargebacks. Users dislike them because of the time required to get credits back to the account. The NETeller card is a better solution to both parties.

Have to wonder how secure thier service really is. They sent me someone elses name, account number and password via email. They apologized for the error.

I was e-mailed someone else's name,id,and password also. That's reason enough for me to say goodbye to Neteller!

Uh-oh, I got someone else's too, in addition to mine. I'll notify NETeller, of course. Anyway, I've changed my password, so no one can access my account.

Major snafu by NETeller, just as they're trying to launch the service big time.

not sure, but it looks like the sceond e-mail was just a template e-mail that was sent out inadvertantly. Mine says test int he subject and contains a name "John Lexxxxx" with an account # that's not mine.

Same name came on mine, so I suppose it was just a "test" as the title of the e-mail indicated. In this case, no security breach should have occurred.

NETeller sent out a test e-mail to show what all card holders are now capeable of doing......cardless NETeller! This is the fastest, most secure way to transfer funds. WIT Sports will reimburse all transfer fees and we process transfers 7 days a week!

                Best of Luck!

Could you please explain what NETeller is and which books have it. Thanks.

                    Shawnee:

Neteller is a third party online transaction provider. Basically how it works is you sign up with Neteller (they will give you a free $20 to deposit into the sportsbook of your choice).

Once you have signed up online for your Neteller account www.neteller.com you then have a choice of funding your account (to deposit money into your sportsbook).

You can fund your Neteller account by:

                    Deposit Via PayPal
A Bank Deposit (Bank Of America / Nations Bank / CitiBank)
                    Western Union Deposit
                    Deposit Via Credit Card

Once money is in your account, simply deposit the money into one of the following sportsbooks:

                    WIT
                    Dunes
                    wagerstreet.com
                    Goto
                    island
                    Casablanca
                    Sportbet
                    and a few others.

I just signed up today and funded my account via Credit card and it was painless.

You can make deposits and withdrawals from sportsbooks with this thing.

I wonder how long it will last if the Funding Prohibition act goes through though.

Where is neteller physically located? Who do they report transactions to? How safe is it? How much can you transfer?

                        Dragon,

NETeller is located in Canada, but have an office in Colorado. This is the fastest, most secure way to transfer funds, seeing that they are a 3rd party. You can transfer up to $5,000. As for who they report to? I'm pretty sure its like Western Union, but do not quote me on that.

                          Sportshobby,

I just signed up yesterday so I don't have this card or the reader nor do I know if they are even sending them. I went to CBS and Dunes to try and start the process of depositing and just got an error message and a window with broken links. Are you saying that you can deposit money to the merchant of your choice from the neteller website? I'm making some transactions tomorrow and hell if I want to w.u. my cash to neteller and not be able to use it.

Thanks for any light you can shed on the subject. I got thru to customer service today and just haven't been able to do what they said I can so far.

                          Best,
                          Munson

Phaedrus or anyone else who knows,

How can using a credit card with Neteller not be considered a cash advance? I know some sportsbooks are able to make it look like a purchase when using a credit card, but how is it possible when using Neteller?

Also, when making a withdrawal, how would you get the cash back from your credit card?

I am a little gun shy now because I received a big pamphlet from First Union stating that my card can not be used for internet gambling. It actually gave me a specific choice of cancelling my card or adhering to their laws. I was very surprised to get the letter along with the pamphlet. They must have done a calculated mailing when doing a search of where funds were being sent, such as Antigua.

Of course they are probably just guessing when making these judgements as far as gambling being involved. It does show as a purchase on the billing but then you know red flags are going up with funds being sent back and forth on the credit cards.

                              Thanks,
                              Groz
