i find it hard to be sympathetic to online casinos but anything that protects Australian online sportsbooks i reckon is great.

i'm not sure how 'net sports betting was set to be involved. i remember reading Senator Alston saying, that under the ban, punters could still bet on sport via phone -- implying 'net sports betting was part of his planned ban.

to my mind a clear distinction between online casinos and sportsbetting must be made -- not tarred with the same brush and all that.

Well, you need to have a distinction between wagering and gambling, whereas one is a game of skill, and poker machines are games of chance, for instance.

Think there was some horse trading going on over that, but have to check in to it.

Hard for the governments to give up poker machines now having privatised all their other revenue sources.
