I thought that I would open a new thread for this comment because the other one had reached some kind of a conclusion and Gameday were seeking closure, (if such a thing can exist in a forum like this). We are not just going to forget it ever happened, nor should we.
In a way I can understand the reaction of gameday in this matter. When I say understand I mean that I can see exactly where it comes from but I certainly do not condone it. Their disdain at Parlay having the nerve to try and claim a bonus when he has never actually put money with them is simply a knee jerk reaction to the fact that they think they are being screwed.
Everybody likes to get something for nothing, that’s fair play. Us punters are going to work every system every way we can; to milk every last drop of VALUE out of every single situation, because that is what we do. That is how we become successful players and everybody wants to be successful right!
For every sharp/successful player out there, I reckon there must be dozens of, well let’s say not so clever ones. Recreational bettors, learners, losers call them what you will. The point being if the books spent more time looking for and encouraging these players their business would be booming. Where is the sense in fighting over a tiny little piece of the pie just because you are too lazy to move over and eat the rest of it.
I am not kicking any individual book here because I find the majority have very similar attitudes but, Gamedays treatment of parlay illustrates their short termist, short sighted attitude towards their business. If parlay brought them twenty accounts and just lived off the bonus’ what the hell. Those twenty accounts could generate many thousands of dollars not to mention masses of repeat business. That is what generates success, that is called working the system. Maybe some of you sharper players should jump over the other side of the counter, you might do well.
To me the bottom line has to be professionalism, integrity and honesty right across the board, every employee has to understand and believe in those values for a company to be really successful. If books continue with their policy of setting up in lesser developed countries without investing in the correct level of expertise to train and develop their staff, these values will never be commonplace and forums like BW will always be full of punters justifiably bitching about getting a raw deal.
