  • The ignorance of some people!

a poster registered at our forum with the intent of blasting GOTO Casino. instead of approaching bettorsworld to help him resolve the problem, he opted to use this forum to vent his frustrations at the expense of the book. he NEVER made it to the forum. his priveliges were revoked before he could post. we did not know what he was going to post but we were uncomfortable with his approach. furious, he used words not allowed in these forums but are allowed in emails and we were ripped by this individual.

this person then went on to post at two other site's forums. the headings of the post were derogatory and unfair to the book. the book has cleared up the situation to everybodies satisfaction.

on yet another forum it was another opportunity for this individual to spout off. in this verbal barrage he included bettorsworld. he claimed he posted on our site and it was deleted.
someone quickly came in and asked how fast?
the owner of this forum took charge and blurted out

Everybody and anybody is welcome to post problems at THIS forum. As long as they are
legitimate, they will never be deleted, advertiser or no advertiser. Any site that practices
nepotism should be ashamed of themselves.

firstly, be sure you know what you are talking about before you fire off some ridiculous statement like this. it seems the rules of this forum change everyday. now,
    the facts are as follows:
    1) the claim made by the angry poster that his post was taken down was FALSE. it NEVER made it to our forum. Why? Because unlike other forums, bettorsworld carefully considers what will be posted before allowing it to fly.
    2) that is why on these other forums you see scary headlines that damage good books. this is another case of an individual whose main purpose was to damage the reputation of a good book and the ignorance of some site owners who so quickly and conveniently buy into it. No checking was done to verify any of the statements that were made by this lunatic. also note that this individual came to bettorsworld 1st. he knows where to go when he wants people to read his rants. he failed because we know better than anyone else when there is a possibility and a good one that its a lot of smoke. why site owners find it so easy to allow shots to be taken at our methods of maintaining a forum is beyond us. they should learn from us. after all, we are the number one gaming forum on the net.
rest assured, bettorsworld will continue to be the one place you can visit and not be frightened that the world is coming to an end. that cannot be said of most other places.

    Brian,

What's the status of ziggylv's post about Carib. There's a claim that nobody cares to address?

We haven't done anything about that. Ziggy hasn't contacted us as of yet.

If he does we'll be glad to contact Carib, or, if Carib see's this, they are also more than welcome to respond.

        Brian,

In your statement at the top of this thread, you mentioned a person who "came in quickly and asked how long it took to be deleted" Well, that person was me, and if you noticed, I told the poster in question that he should contact either you or Jeff directly if he was having trouble posting his complaints. Obviously, he must not have done this or I would assume there would be no need for you thread.

While I agree with much of what you said, I think it's a bit unfair to come down quite so hard on the other site in question. As someone who posts at both sites and has enormous respect for both sites, I can tell you that admire the way you handle things, and I admire the way they handle things, even though you do so in VERY different methods.

Just because they think their system is the best, it doesn't make them right, and the same applies to you guys. I happen to see your argument, which is essentially that it's unfair to quality sports books to have unsubstantiated posts floating around the forum, and I find that to be a pretty good argument. It's not fair, and it places the burden of proving their innocence on the sports book. So I totally see your point, but...I also see their point, which is that if it's an open forum about the good and bad of sportsbooks, then why should the poster be expected to hold their tongues just because this book has a good and rep and may be an advertiser?

Why is it any better than a person contacts you and/or Jeff to mediate the dispute for them? If the book is not paying them for no good reason and only ends up paying them because you and/or Jeff puts pressure on that book, isn't that still relevant to the general public?

Personally, I think so, but I also see your position and I essentially agree with it even if I do think the other site has a legitimate position as well.

What I'm driving at here is that just because you handle these disputes by your more disciplined rules, it doesn't mean that their method is wrong, just different.

And before you get mad at me, just note that I was the one who told this guy to e-mail you directly because I DO understand the reasons why you were going to delete/not allow this post, even if don't entirely agree with them.

        Thanks for your time,

        Mark

          hello mark,

the difference that we have with the way others choose to handle supposed "problems" is very clear.
if site owners allow individuals like this to post topics like "xyz does not pay", this post heading is reason to investigate several things. quickly.

firstly, who posted this? when did they register? have they put up any other posts? why did they not contact someone previous to this post?
the answers here became clear rather quickly to bworld.
the poster JUST registered the same day he attempted to post. using the experience that only "seasoned" moderators can apply, we optioned not to immediatley allow him to post. that is not to say we would not allow him in a day or so. our decision was the correct one. when he was disallowed privileges he went ballistic. he fired back at bworld with comments i choose not to repeat here.
he then scurried over to one of the other sites and strategically blasted the sportsbook on his site of second choice. i believe he left bworld out of his comments on this site which in itself makes the poster suspect under the circumstances.
he then went to his third and last choice and made sure to include the completely false statement that he had posted on our site and that we took it down.
seeing this as a nice promo opportunity one of the owners of that site chose to make one of the issues bworld and how we should be ashamed of what we did.
if the site owner had the experience of running an operation like this, he would have known better than to simply let the posts fly with no/little credibilty. because they saw a chance to parlay the incident into a shot at bworld they chose to let it fly.
who is this brave poster? where did he come from? why did he not mention us at one site but made sure to mention us at the other?
if this is the way the other web site chooses to run their operation we could care less. it is the wrong way-its that simple. until it is learned that taking shots and wild shots at that (the case here) they will fail as a legitimate source of information.

          thanks
          brian

We have always maintained that as long as people lodge their complaints in a respectful, and fair manner, then there's no problem. It's only fair to the people who are being complained about.

We have been doing this for 5 years or so, and quite frankly, no one else can come close. We have the luxury of running a respectable site. We don't need the headlines. We assume most of you guys out there are smarter than that. While sportsbooks and betting is the main topic here, you'll notice BETTORSWORLD is the main topic everywhere else!

Just to show you how good our judgement really is, here's one of many emails from our friend who was given the boot before he even started.........is this what you'd like to read on a daily basis????
