  • Key West

I have recieved great advice in the past and would like a little more please. I am going to Key West for a week on Tue 12-12-00 and am looking for some things to do while I am there. Bringing my laptop so I don't "miss home" so much and staying at the Hilton next to Mallory Square. Never been there before and would like a to know a few watering holes to watch the games and the best places for heterosexual fun. Thanks

Key West is a lively place, and you're staying at the center of it. The Hilton has a great dock and view of the water. Be sure to take a sunset sailboat cruise, ride around the island on mopeds, see the Hemingway home tour, and (if you're into history at all) the Little White House tour.

Duval Street is packed with all sorts of bars and restaurants. You'll have to stop in Sloppy Joe's, which was Hemingway's favorite hangout. It is an open-air, noisy/busy bar with televisions overhead.

If you drive to Sand Key (or in that area) get directions to the "No-Name Pub" and have their pizza. You may be hesitant to go in when you see it, but it is legendary and unique.

As far as the nightlife, we were almost afraid to investigate. Maybe someone else can help.
