    RENO,

IF THE BOOKS YOU ASKED SAID THEY WERE GETTING DESTROYED AND THIS WAS THEIR WORST FOOTBALL SEASON EVER,WOULD YOU THINK ABOUT MAYBE REDUCING YOUR BALANCE THERE?

AND IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE A BALANCE THERE DO YOU THINK THAT MAYBE THE B.M.WHO WAS TALKING TO YOU WANTED YOU TO KNOW,I'M DOING GREAT NO CASH PROBLEMS HERE,WHY NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT?

LAST YEAR I WASN'T APPROACHED WITH A BOOK FOR SALE UNTIL AFTER NEW YEARS DAY.

THIS YEARS I KNOW OF 14 FOR SALE.

GRANTED 10 OF THEM I'VE NEVER HEARD OF, BUT THE SEASON ISN'T EVEN OVER YET.

AND NO,I AM NOT AT LIBERTY TO MENTION THEIR NAMES OR DISCUSS IF THEY ARE OR ARE NOT ON ANYBODY'S LIST.

This UConn game is a perfect example. How can all these books move a point and a half to 2 points.

There has to books moving on air for this game to move this much. And it doesn't matter WHO bet this game either. This UMass team is 1-5.... Let them bet it!

Is there that much money being bet on UMass? This team is horrible! Why would any bookie avoid a bet on a team this bad?

Why would anyone move on air... On this game! At least take a stand and only move a half point after taking a bet..... They are not going to just keep betting it! I think books just loved to get middled.....

If you can't take bets on really bad teams... Who can you take them on?

Reality, the guys I talk to never BS me.
When they have bad periods, I hear about it.

DoggieStyle, one of the guys I talk to who runs a book that is doing well used to work with you. And not surprisingly, he claims to have learned a lot from you.

          Reno,

I will say..... I really miss booking.

I never thought it was going to be that much fun. But it was. There's nothing hard about running an office at all!

I think I will do it again sometime soon. I would have to be crazy to say I will never do it again.

          I will be back...........

Doggie Style, not to **** smoke up your heine, but the guys at Looselines have always raved about how sharp you were and how well you anticipated what the playes would do. You proved that it is possible to offer different numbers and yet make a ton of money for a book.

Doggie...Let me expand. When I was booking, if I lost it was my own damn fault. I'm talking about over time & not a day or two. I ran 5 books in Nevada and in everyone I employed LVSC to help with the numbers(full circle: now I'm in charge of LVSC). If I went bad I would:
                * Hire additional opinions acording to
                sport.
                * Fire LVSC (I alway's got them back
                though)
                * Wait it out because I knew the game
                was in my favor.
                * Seek advise from a couple guys much
                smarter than I.
                * Exercise due dillegence.
                * Accept the fact I'm putting up the
numbers and moving them so if it's
                anybodys fault its mine...

                  Scotty,

You are right! They also blame the linemakers!

The linesmakers are not the ones taking the bets... day in and day out. The bookie who sees the action all day every day would have a much better feel for the line, He should know if the line is right or not!

That's the bookies job... Not the linesmakers....... The linesmakers are only helpers in all this..

I would NEVER blame the linemaker. In fact I WANT THE LINEMAKERS TO GIVE OUT BAD LINES! And I hope bookies use them without any thought!

I would have NO PROBLEM with that. That is the challenge anyway isn't it? To make a better line than anybody else and to know how to use it? That's how it used to be.

Back when CLONING was just for animals....

                  Reno,

Our old buddy in Vegas told me the same thing. I love trying to be sharper than anybody.... What's wrong with that? That's what I miss the most about booking.

                  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The point I would like to make is this..... There are alot of sharp people that could use their own opinion also. The way EVERYBODY thinks today is that it's WRONG to post different numbers. That it will cost your book money.

That is so far from the truth it's not even funny. Books are costing themselves much more money by moving their numbers blindly.

Books have such an edge........ But VERY FEW BOOKMAKERS know how to take advantage of this!

                  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I COULD NEVER BE A CLONE....... That would be weird...... not natural.

Like I have always said... If you have a good opinion, You would have to be a complete Idiot NOT TO USE IT!

I've made lines forever.... I should be at least, A little good.. You would think!
