    Royal Review
    By Victor Ludorem

Ever wonder why Walter Payton used to take such good care of his offensive linemen?
The Yuletide season brings us a wonderful time to pause and reflect on the many unsung heroes in our lives who undauntedly go about their tasks in relative anonymity, unnoticed and potentially unappreciated. Like the paperboy who braves the elements to provide your sportspage each day, or mailman who faithfully delivers a ray of sunshine once in every six mailboxes full of bills. The policeman who protects your neighborhood, the nightwatchman or security guy who stands forever vigilant over your special interests.
So take the time, make the effort, cough up a little of the dough you got from Royal Sports this year and show your appreciation to the unsung heroes in your life. These people truly deserve your consideration and rewards for their continued efforts.
Now for the reason you are here, last week the Royal bookmaker goes 2 out of 3.

The Denver Broncos, riding a six game winning streak, failed to claim a tie for the AFC West lead on their visit to Arrowhead Stadium. 4 out of 5 bettors lost out as the Chiefs+3 squaw slapped and rode bareback on the Rocky Mountain visitors 20-7. The Bronco backers were banking on an inspired performance due to the upset of division leading Oakland at the hands of the Seahawks on Saturday. The performance they received however, was flatter than a can of Coors found rattling around in the trunk of a TransAm formerly owned by Bert Reynolds.

At 3Com (Candlestick) Park, another WR upstaged Jerry Rice’s swan song for the home crowd. Tony Bennett may have ‘Left his Heart in San Francisco’ but Frisco’s Terrell Owens ‘left his mark’ in the NFL record books on Sunday. Owens, best remembered for his desecrating antics on the midfield star at Texas Stadium, caught 20 passes while breaking the 50 year old record of 18 set by Tom Fears of the Los Angeles Rams. Sad part is I can remember Tom Fears, but time seems to have forgotten Monsters of the Midway. The Bears+7.5 were torched by Owens and the Niners 17-0. A ratio of 10to1 bets was cashed by those ‘Loyal to Royal’.

What do Jim Fassell and Joe Namath have in common? Besides wearing pantyhose both guaranteed a victory and backed up their BS. The Giants clinched the NFC East Crown with a come-from-behind 17-13 victory against Dallas. The Cowboys lead 13 zip at the half but never scored again and may not score again this year. Too bad the G-men covered the teasers or it would have been a very merry Christmas for us.

Speaking of Merry Christmas, don’t forget your offshore bookmaker. The guys who forsake wine, women and song plus their stateside families and friends, put in long hours for your entertainment, work hard on each and every holiday, never get to play golf or go deep sea fishing. They deserve a pat on the back as well. Remember unlike your spouse, boss, or relatives no matter how bad your day is going – your bookmaker is always glad to hear from you. Seasons Greetings from the Royal family.

    ROYAL,

FROM MOST ACCOUNTS THE LAST TWO WEEKS HAVE BEEN AMONG THE BEST FOR B.M.'S THIS FOOTBALL SEASON.

WOULD YOU AGREE WITH THAT STATEMENT?

ANY OTHER B.M.'S CARE TO COMMENT ON THE LAST TWO WEEKS?

YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT IT SEEMS THE LAST 4 WEEKS OF THE N.F.L. SEASON SEEM TO BE THE BEST FOR THE HOUSE.

THE PLAYERS ARE BANGED UP AND DOGGED TIRED,MANY TEAMS ARE JUST GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM CONTENTION AND IN GENERAL FORM JUST GOES OUT THE WINDOW...
