    OLD MAN,

I HATE TO RUIN YOUR HOLIDAYS BUT THE RED IS CARRIED OVER.

BACK IN THE DAY SOME OF THE CLASSIER B.M'S WIPED OUT THE RED FOR A 25% SHEET BECAUSE A 25% SHEET IS EQUIVALENT TO COMMISH...

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

OLD MAN, WHAT AGE QUALIFIES ONE FOR THE STATUS OF "OLD"? I MAY BE THERE AND NOT KNOW IT. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE, misty

Misty, It's not a # but a new phase. Reality is not there yet, but Old Man is a card carrying member. Below are just some of the prerequisites of impending old age.

#1 When the women you lust are old enough to be the daughter you had later in life. These women would occasionally look back at you. Now they just laugh or snub you.

#2 Watching a sporting event and anticipating the scenarios that can and will go wrong. You know, like the intentional safeties or dribbling out the clock.

#3 Inability to wake up Sat an Sunday AMs Pacific Time for events.

#4 You're watching less games and getting more ticker/pager updates. Also realizing that the team that scores first didn't cash the ticket yet.

#5 Kids look at you strangely when you mention Curt Gowdy, Marty Glickman, Al DeRogotis, By Saum, and Mel Allen.

#6 You must remember Chris Shenkel's famous 'jock' blooper.

Just a few. I think Marlowe can carry on from here.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all you guys and gals old and young.

            RONBETS missed 3 other things-----
            1. you had to bet on the old AFL LEAGUE games
            when you were a teenager
            2. you had to go to CHURCHILL DOWNS on the strip to listen to reconstructed race calls
            from SANTA ANITA
            3. you had to be a ticket writer in the
FLAMINGO sports book when BUGSEY ran the place

              OLD MAN, HOW ABOUT THESE:

              1) BEING IN COLLEGE WHEN PRESIDENT KENNEDY WAS ASSASSINATED.

              2) ENJOYING WARM SUMMER DAYS AT HOLLYWOOD PARK WATCHING SILKY SULLIVAN MAKE UP 56 LENGTHS BETWEEN THE HALF MILE POLE AND THE FINISH LINE TO WIN GOING AWAY.

              3) SITTING IN A VACANT L.A.COLISEUM WATCHING LANCE ALLWORTH MAKE CIRCUS CATCHES FOR THE LOS ANGELES CHARGERS.

              4) GOD DO I MISS THOSE DAYS......

              REGARDS, misty

OLD MAN, The word 'fix' originated in the old AFL.

MISTY, "Bambi" was poetry in motion. So was Joey Heatherton.

RONBETS-I DISAGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE OLD
AFL-I THINK THE WORD "FIX" ORIGINATED MANY
                  YEARS IN THE NBA.........

There were fixed sporting events a long long time before either of those new leagues came around
