  • Java Version of Feist Screen

I just noticed that the Feist screen (www.feistlines.com) has a button beside the "Refresh" button to go to a Java version. This appears to be an automatic update screen, somewhat akin to the InstantOdds screen. If this all works properly it could be useful, since there are a few good books on there that do not appear on Don Best (e.g. SOS).

Does anyone else have experience with this screen, such as its accuracy and response time?

The problem with their Java version is the same as their premium product:

The numbers aren't reliable, and they don't force the books to keep them updated.

Just like Island Express, this makes the product virtually worthless.

Its a shame, because I believe the SportsTracker II has a superior interface/platform when compared with Don Best Java Junk.

However, since the Best Premium enforces its books to update their lines, its currently the superior product.

The freebies (Island Express, Feist) are at best advertising vehicles that provide little or no value to the bettor IMHO.

Since these products are free, the end user is last on the totem pole when it comes to gripes. The sportsbooks are the customers, not the user, so I wouldn't expect any of this to change.

In short, why use these products when there is no correlation between the line on the screen and what the sports book will quote you?

Of course a 2 min delay will mean some lines are stale anyway, but without strict enforcement, the delay might as well be 2 WEEKS.

Heath, right on. I subscribed to the Feist Sports Tracker earlier this year and I gave it up because the lines weren't promptly updated. Feist has a nerve charging $250 a month for stale lines. But what would you expect from Feist?

Stale lines certainly aren't useful. But just as with IX, I think this problem exists with some books and not others. The SOS line on the free Feist service appaers to be updating regularly and promptly.

Get used to the Don Best monopoly as well.

DBC has nixed plans to go forward with a Premium Service.
