joke outfit; no shops in Uk. small. They are solid but their limits are a total joke. Cut me to a fiver max bet after 3 bets: (that's $3!!!) but you don't even get a decent bet to start with.

I'm based in UK and do a lot of UK sportsbetting; if you want to hook up and get a list of decent outs over here email me at [email protected]. I could handle some OZ advice; who else online apart from Canbet, Darwin and centrebet?

      Bazzer,
Australia is full of online bookies.
      www.sportodds.com.au (NSW) www.sportstab.com.au (NSW ex-govt) www.tabsportsbet.com.au (Vic ex-govt) www.sportsbet.com.au (NT) www.sportsbetting.com.au (NSW) www.megasports.com.au (ACT)
and not forgetting www.tab.co.nz (that mob across the ditch)

Bookies that have sites, but phone only betting...
      www.sportsbook.com.au www.globalsportsbet.com.au www.allsports.com.au www.ascotsportsbet.com.au

      Australian licence, but Scandinavian company
      www.unitedbet.com

The licence process in Australia is so thorough that there's no need for the slightest concern about being paid etc, it all comes down to what you are after...

Best prices, wider range of bets, more sports/leagues etc...

SportOdds are probably the 'Intertops' of Australia - they target the recreational punter and aren't afraid to tell you that.

Betting with the three places you mentioned should cover you for most things, but the occasional ricks are available at the other places.

        Thanks Bazzer

I guess i wouldn't open with them if limits are so low

Also what about heathorns, do they have a webpage and how big are they

And what about www.firststake.com (who have brought bowman) have you any betting expreience with then

Boris gave you every sportsbook on the internet here in Australia, plus some I didn't know about. all are safe

also have you any problems with any UK books, like limits, getting kick out, getting your money back.

        thanks OZ

Anybody know anything about United bet in terms of limits and policies? What type of shop do they run? Their websight says their credit card processor is e-payment solutions, for what it is worth.

                OZ,

heathorns are at www.heathorns.co.uk, with a few online prices but no online betting. They are very solid; they have been around a 100 years and they won't be going under. Not a great range of sports; they do price some soccer themselves (they take a view and don't just clone) so worth adding to the list. You'll probably build up a large phone bill calling for prices though!

First-stake are solid they are publicly traded but again, low limits by US standards. I haven't been booted yet...

We've just had the rush to the internet in the UK and there are some books out there that I know nothing about despite keeping my ear to the ground, so I am wary to post up big. Rumours that are few are getting caned and we will have a shakeout but I don't know anybody actually being slow paid by any of them.

I suppose as you know that William Hill, Ladbrokes, Eurobet (.com and .co.uk) and Totalbet.com are the most solid as they all have several hundred shops behind them! Bricks and mortar is worth a lot in my view. THese firms just won't go bust; their accountants won't let them! I'd honestly leave my life savings on deposit with them. I would recommend totalbet.com for having weird prices and not changing them. They are owned by the government so very safe, but they charge 2% tax. Low limits but I have about 5 accounts in different names and it's ok.

Online they tend to cut limits (already low by US standards but better than centrebet!) rather than boot, at least that happens to me. Maybe I don't win enough!

Presumably this is what bazzer above meant by 'Darwin'?
