THE NATIONS LEADING ODDSMAKER, BOB MARTIN PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY FROM RECENT COMPLICATIONS IN HIS ORIGINAL HOMETOWN OF NYC. ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING MADE FOR HIS BODY TO BE SHIPPED BACK TO LV. WE MOURN THE LOSS OF A TRUE GENTLEMAN AND SPORTSMAN. CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY.

Never met him but heard and read many storys about the man over the years.

The impact he had on Sportsbetting was massive. a true bookmaker back when Vegas was at it's sportsbetting peak.

Incidentally, I've mentioned the book "Superbookie" by Art Manteris in the past, and have taken flak, basically because of the author, who isn't too popular with the players.......

The reason the book is worth the read, is the stories it contains about guys like Bob Martin........

It's a shame Bob never put out a book. Now that would have been an education....
