  • Bet on the NFL/NBA/NHL in Minnesota????

    AIRPORT CASINO
Bill planned: Rep. Phyllis Kahn, who earlier this year proposed legislation that would legalize betting on professional sports in Minnesota, plans to introduce a bill to build a state-run casino at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Only travelers would be allowed to gamble. They would have to produce airplane tickets that are valid within 12 hours on either end of the flight to gain admission to a casino.

``I think it's a great source of money, and a great source of money from non-Minnesotans,'' Kahn, DFL-Minneapolis, said Thursday. The money would go to the state's general fund and to the Environmental Trust Fund, where Lottery proceeds now go.

I can already see Asian tour operators from hundreds of miles radius of Minneapolis figuring out how to get in on this. The 12 hr limit is almost perfect for an up and back. If this plan goes through, the demographics at the airport will change somewhat and the decibel level, in certain areas of the airport, will rise to levels not normally seen except in Chinese restaurants. That you can bet on! I'm half Asian so I can say all this. Depends on which half is doing the saying, you say???
The half that doesn't do the driving!!

Well, considering that the sound of a jet taking off reaches 120 decibels, they'll be hard pressed to overcome that... LOL
