  • Documentary on e-commerce on the island of Alderney (Sportingbet/Surrey Sports)

I recently produced a documentary on e-commerce on the Island Of Alderney. For those of you that don't know where it is, Alderney is a small island (3.5 times 1.5 miles) located in the Channel Islands between Britain and France. It is independent of Britain and has its own government and currency. It only relies on Britain when it comes to foreign representation and defense policy.

The residents of the island are the most friendly people that I have come across in my entire life - and I've lived in four different countries and visited over 20! They are sincere people, both helpful and open, and once you travel to Alderney you simply don't want to go back. It's a beautiful place, and at the same time has high-tech communications and is free of crime. Paradise? Probably...

We spent four days in Alderney filming and conducting interviews with both sportsbook employees and government representatives. We visited Sportingbet and Surrey Sports and both were extremely helpful in making this documentary happen.

We are now in the post-production stage and once the product is edited and finalised I would like to make it available for all BettorsWorld users. The duration of the piece will be about 15 mins so it would be possible to fit a DVD quality picture on a regular CD. I will let you know how things progress.

In the meantime I thought I would mention a newspaper article that was written by Mrs. Ilona Soane-Sands, Public Affairs & Marketing Manager of the States of Alderney, who has been instrumental in helping us produce this documentary. The address is as follows: http://www.thisisguernsey.com/bailiwick/alderney.html

Cons Thank you for post. Will be looking forward to updates.
Dragon: Yes they do. Have accounts with both mainly for golf.Surrey is most excellent golf out while Sportingbet is hands down the worst with 34 cent golf lines, paying only 4 places on outrights compared to 5 @ Surrey and very limited matches..I do keep account open @ Sportingbet in hopes of them changing and because their customer service is excellent and safty would be A+.Also to their credit they absorbed accounts of 1st Stake when they folded.Just a few of my observations.
