  • Sportbet Payment Problems

    Wondering if anyone uses or has had any problems with Sportbet. I won a $1000 acct. with 2nd place in Bettorsworld contest. After about $2500 in total bets, I was a little above breakeven. Over two weeks ago I requested a $500 payout to test them. I haven't received anything other a response to an email I sent week ago asking about my check:

    "For the last couple of weeks, starting on the 16th, we have being having a
    delay with the bank that issues the checks for us. Due to that we have not
    being able to send out any of the FedEx redemptions for those dates."

    What makes a little more impatient than usual is that if this is the case why didn't they say this when I requested a payout on the 22. They even gave me a tracking number and made it seem as though the check had been sent. I'm beginning to think maybe its because I'm a contest winner with no deposits they just trying to delay me as long as possible. Kind of like its ok to win the contest as long as you don't ask for a check. Since I've only dealt with Carib and Itops, I guess I've been spoiled and I have never waited more than 4 days for a check.

    I have gotten the same type of runaround from SportBet the last couple of weeks after winning money from a contest they sponsored as well.

    I tried to get $1,000 sent on April 22nd and even received a FedEx/DHL tracking number that day. On Sat the 28th, I received an email from them saying they had a delay from their bank and that the checks were not sent out until the 27th. After another week went by with no confirmaiton from FedEx or DHL that it had been sent, I received another reply from SportBet on May 4th claiming they were still having problems and that now the check had not been sent at all. This morning (May 7th) I finally called them and they gave me the same response saying they were still having a problem with their bank.

    I truly believe that if I was not a contest winner like kid here I would have received the money a long time ago. I am worried even more now becuase I have my account up to an additional $1300 and do not think I will receive that anytime soon either.

    Does anyone out there have any experience with SportBet? I too have only dealt with Itops and have never had any problems receiving money from them. Why have they been giving me the runaround?

        Kid and Brady,

        First, thank you for your patience with us the past couple of weeks. We have been having a few problems with our banks down here, but I am happy to say...no longer. Second, allow me to assure you that being contest winners has nothing to do with the delay. Finally, all payouts that were delayed in the previous weeks have been taken care of, or are being sent out today, tomorrow, and Wednesday. Kid, I believe you already have your $$ in your hand. Brady, I am not sure, but I can confidently say your should be there very soon. In fact, call me at 800-214-1788 and I will verify that your payout request has been issued. Thanks again, for all your patience. It was a very unusual situation for us and we are glad that it is over with. Best of luck to all!!

          Thanks for the response, though I don't quite understand what you mean by I already have the $$ in my hand. I hope that means it was delivered today, we'll see when I get home tonight.

            GM - Thanks for your repsonse, I just talked to a rep at Sportbet and it seems like everything went out today. This woudn't be the first time I heard that though but I appreciate the effort on your part and will look for the package later this week.

                I've read more complaints about this place than any other book around. I would be VERY careful.

                  This all sounds a bit fishy. How could the book give out a FedEx tracking number unless the package had actually been shipped?

                  Second, I'm surprised that in such a case the sportsbook wouldn't contact the players requesting checks and arrange some alternate method of payment (before a few weeks passed).

                    This one is really bugging me.

                    Jake, you really need to try and explain what was your bank problem, and how it was possible to be unable to send payments for two weeks. I would also have expected you to be here proactively explaining the problem, instead of reacting now.

                        That is a good question, How do you give somebody a tracking # when no package has been sent? I have read so many complaints about SportBet, keep in mind only a small amount a people read or even know about these watchdog sites.

                          Marcus and Sportshobby,

                          We had the Fedex packages in the office, and they have tracking numbers on them. The numbers are put into the system once they are in the Fedex office. It is not that they do not exist before then, they are simply not in the system. Hope that helps.

                            I do not have my $$ in my hand. I'm assuming it was the check was sent yesterday. I just called and spoke with Tommy and was told that the tracking number should be valid by Thur. I'll be patient and hopefully I get a check by Friday.

                              I'm either persistent or hard-headed, but I still don't know what the bank "problem" was and I'm surprised that such a problem can go on for two weeks without the sportsbok going out of business.

                              I'd assume that the problem also existed with Island and IBET?
