I don't know much about the Caribi situation but......is the cost of acquiring "new customers" that high so that another book might actually be tempted to acquire and in essence assume the "full debt" of this book? Or is a scenario where the people who are owed by Caribi more likely to get the "so many cents on the dollar" deal?

It wouldn't be uncommon for all of Caribi's customers to be acquired by another book, and then Caribi would be put on a "sheet" with that book.

Just like a stateside book or an agent would put his customers into a book and collect a percentage......

Only in this case, the percentage would go towards paying off the debt assumed.....

I got the number from my agent, I was NOT a post up customer. I do not feel it is right to post the number that I was given, I will confirm tomorrow if the store has a name. (I THINK THEY ARE DEL MAR). I hope nobody got stiffed.
