Sorry, nope, you are out of luck on this one pilot, and for very good reason. You see, you CAN PUT A STOP PAYMENT ON A BANK CHECK. So what's to stop a scammer from sending in a bank check, being able to bet his account immediately, LOSING, and then stopping the payment on the check? Opens up the book to tremendous risk. If you want to bet and not wait, try Neteller, Paypal, or if you don't mind waiting a day or two, bank wire.
I've been told by my bank that a customer CANNOT put a stop-payment on a cashier's check. I'm not sure about a "bank" check, if there is a difference.
I do know that it is very standard practice for a sportsbook to credit a player's account upon receipt of either one. In fact, some will credit your account immediately if you will fax them a copy of the check and the airbill.
I have come across some that make the player wait 30 days before getting a payout, when a bank check was used to make a deposit.
Nearly every book will credit my account right away. Some will even credit my account early if I fax the check and airbill number. Then there are some books that don't trust anyone and make you wait until the check clears. If that's the case, they should tell you up front before you send the check.
