  • CrunchTime: Book Peformance

It's the first big weekend of the year and here's what I've found re: trying to get online access to various books:

GSC - who knows because I haven't been able to get in all morning. A big surprise since I don't recall any problems last year.

Pinnacle - thanks for that upgrade...slow all week and times out before I can make a wager today

BoDog - a bit slower but, I can still get access

Aces - normal which is great as they had a tough start last year...good job at addressing a problem

Casa/Mega - no difference between Saturday morning and any other day...thank you for meeting your players' needs

WSEX was a little slow today at 9:30 Pacific. I'm very very very surprised! Even at crunch time these guys are always fast, thy must have got hit hard. Note, when I say slow, I mean it took 8 seconds on my cable modem. Normally, it never takes 2 seconds! But, as of 10:30 WSEX is running like a stud once again!

We are located in North America in Kahnawake Mohawk Territory, in addition to having fast payouts, and North American clerks, we are connected directly to the North American Internet Backbone and have always had a fast site with zero downtime.

Our proprietary software is also based on a linux/apache base which is much more stable and quicker than NT, combine our superior software and our North American location and you will understand why we tout ourselves as "fastest from pick to click".

Give us a try, you will not be dissapointed.

Pinnacle was just aweful today... The thing that sucks the most is the fact that it takes a couple of minutes to get the lines and they have the expiration set to one minute so there's NEVER a chance of getting a play down... How could it be that they have 5 minutes for parlays and 1 minute for straight plays... I guess they like to encourage those parlays

Intertops was a little slow and WSEX was better than Saturday. CRIS was there for me.

                      copied this from elsewhere:

                      "Dear Pinnacle Clients:
We sincerely apologize for the problems that we have been experiencing the
last several weeks: to improve our overall service we had to move to a new
location and upgrade all of our infrastructure. Even with the best of
intentions we have encountered some problems. Of course we accept full
responsibility for all our the problems that our customers have experienced.

I hope that all of our customers realize that we are very concerned not to
be able to offer our usual very high level of service. Some of our staff
members have been putting in repetitive 36 hour shifts to help us make it
                      through this very difficult transition.

1.- We have contracted for two Internet paths: traditional land line and
satellite (as a backup). Unfortunately the provider of our Internet land
line connection has not been able to make good on a guaranteed delivery
date. This has forced us to use our backup internet connection (the
satellite) which had not been completely tuned.

2.- At the same time the transfer of our 800 numbers, which is usually a
very straight forward process became a nightmare when the major carriers
started play us against each other as to who owned the 800 numbers and who
needed to sign on the transfer. Even after straightening up the paperwork
what then should have been a very easy technical task for the carriers, was
postponed, delayed, etc. Some of the 800 numbers that were successfully
transferred to our new location were eventually dropped due to some
                      mysterious reasons.

What to expect for the next few days.

1.- Our international phone provider is currently working with the major
carrier. All our main wagering numbers have been functioning without a
glitch since yesterday afternoon. We expect all our other 800 numbers to
come on line today or tomorrow. If you have problems you can call
1-800-599-9449 (customer service) or 1-800-484-3333 (sales department) and
                      someone will help you.

2.- The internet connection over the satellite has been tuned and we are
currently experiencing much better connectivity. We will not settle for the
current speed but the site is presently very usable. We are missing only
one piece to complete our Internet land line connection. We expect this to
be in place this afternoon. As always, remember that we are not dealing
with traditional US efficiency so there might be some delays until tomorrow.
The main thing to remember is that we currently have a valid satellite
                      connection for our site.

                      Again, our sincere apologies,

Pinnacle Sports WorldWide staff and management."

FOOD FOR THOUGHT. WHY WAIT TILL CRUNCH TIME TO PLACE WAGER WHEN SO MANY BOOKS OFFER EITHER NO JUICE OR REDUCED JUICE ON FRIDAYS.
