Still not up and running. Software problem. Maybe today?

As another astute member once pointed out-the pigs are still grounded. They haven't even been taking flying lessons yet. One wonders if the flight school owners in Florida would question a bunch of cash-rich pigs desire for flight lessons in the unlikely event that Bowmans ever went online. :D

Its Sunday, at least here on the east coast, and still no go.

What's really sad/funny about this is that dozens or hundreds of books have sprung up out of nowhere, all of whom let you bet online.

These guys have been around forever and the whole ship has roared on by.

Did they give any clue as to whether they were building their own software from scratch or buying one?

FYI -Bowmans is now online. One annoyance is that at least for the present you have to have a separate phone and internet account. I transferred the majority of my funds to the online account - over the phone. Took a few holds to get things sorted out, but I the funds were transferred, and I have already place a couple of wagers.

I have not investigated the system fully, but at first glance it appears easy to use. Given that this is their first attempt at online wagering, I'm sure there will be glitches but I for one am still in shock that they are online.

I almost drained my account last year, but a miracle happened and I started winning so I kept my funds going. While I don't think Bowmans is as good as some of the other books I use, I am rooting for them to succeed as I feel that over the past couple of months they have improved greatly.

Well? Are the early returns in? How did they do?? What are their limits? I'm thinking of going back and giving Bowmans another try.

They don't use the Don Best rotation. The games are in time order. I think I'll wait for some feedback before giving them another chance.

                      Shifty,

We do use the Don Best rotation. There is a bug in this latest version of the software that juggles the order of the games.

If you look at any of the books that use this software, you will find that the games are in the identical order that ours are.

We have been told that this situation will be corrected with the next version release.

                        Question for Bowmans:

The online software looks good. Are you planning on integrating it with the phone accounts? I was told that I could transfer money from one to the other and will try it out (thanks to a recent resurrection of my balance). Any timeline to have them integrated?

                        Neil

                          Bowmans,

What are your online limits for mlb, nfl, and cfb?

                          thanks.

                            Neil,

We are very pleased you are enjoying the online software.

While it is our plan and wish to integrate the two systems, it is not in the immediate plans. We will have to wait for technology to catch up just a little bit.

With operations spread out in different locations in different countries, it is impossible to get fast enough performance to enable us to integrate the systems.

We have tried to make it as easy as possible by having our customer service representatives facilitate the transfer of funds between systems for you. We have set up a dedicated department just for this function and they are available 24 hours a day.

We will continue to work on integrating the system, but are unable to offer you a time frame at this time.

                              theRick,

                              The online limits are:

                              MLB $2,500 sides, $1,000 totals, $1,000 Runlines

                              CFB $3,000 sides, $1,000 totals

Limits are higher on the phones.
